Re: AI deploying/generating units behind enemy lines???

Bob, I know there are quite a few "real" maps made, however I generally don't have a problem with the generated ones. I actually prefer them a little for everything except defend missions, since you...

Re: USSR vs.Finland (Infiltrators)

First wooden bridge took 1 charge, second bridge took two charges. Easier then realistic, probably, however I had those units deployed there from the beginning, so I just looked at them as having the...

Re: AI deploying/generating units behind enemy lines???

Stock Finland map, and the first one that came up  Certain areas of Finland seem to generate a lot of those extended bridges and deep lakes. I generally go with the first map I'm given, unless...

Re: Game Questions

I've noted this as well, I always put it down to AT Teams have better knowledge on what stops a tank. However, it's likely just luck!! LOL

USSR vs.Finland (Infiltrators)

Got done with my final Winter War battle with a beat up Marine company and trashed BT platoons, then the enemy decides to counterattack at dawn...

The OOB:
10 tank company of KV-1's (mostly...

Re: AI deploying/generating units behind enemy lines???

I had a look at this

There may be a slight corruption to that DAT file. I tried one deployment with the Russian side using autodeploy and it deployed some destroyed, but not repaired units, on...

Re: AI deploying/generating units behind enemy lines???

I'll post a save game as soon as someone tells me how to :o I've got T0,T1, and T10 savegames. There are lots of lakes, but we're not talking about a few hex's, rather, they had units 3/4's of the...

AI deploying/generating units behind enemy lines???

Fighting a special battle on my Russian LC, delay against a Finnish counterattack. The AI deployed units literally all over the map, including at least one platoon directly on top of a set of...

Re: DAR - Russian Winter Woes

I feel for you, Ketch. It's 3/1940 on my 200 gamer, and I'm just about fed up with the snow, cold, and fight-till-we're-all-dead Finns. :( :( :( I've been doing it the hard way, I admit, with only...

Re: Russian LC core?

Thought I'd give an update of where my core is now, after ~6 battles, in Finland 1/1940.

T-35 company is now KV-1's (a little early for a full company, but I had to replace 7 tanks after one...

Re: Favorite Theater

Thanks for the tip, I've been going though them with liberal use of the U key to clear out both smoke and grey hexs, it works but is a bit labor intensive.

Re: Favorite Theater

Historically I prefer the Northern front; Winter War, Continuation War, Norway, ect. However I find the winter scenes to be visually hard to play in SP, so I generally just muddle through them :( ...

It's a dig against those members who continue to chuck forth ideas and opinions that border between the asinine and outright ridiculous, despite a preponderance of evidence against them :angel

Re: Does size matter?

Mostly I've been playing on a 60x60 with one armored and one inf. coy. Works well for me, I prefer a little faster pace anyhow :) I think I'm going to go up to a 70x60 or 70x70 for my LC, however....

Do Dozer tanks clear mines???

Other than the obvious expedient of clearing them by blowing themselves up  , are dozer tanks effective against minefields? I'm getting into the Winter War now in my LC, and everybody knows...

Thanks Andy.
I did some playtesting last night, currently my marines are getting mobbed by the Polish hordes:(, so I'll have to think hard about switching to your 2 grunt Coys.

Russian LC core?

I think I've putzed around enough now to start my 200 battle Russian LC. I'm trying to stay as small as possible while still keeping a combined arms feel and tactics to the game. The core I'm...

Re: Little used but great weapons?

Ok, a little thread necromancy here

For close in battles, I've fallen in love with the Russian KV-8s, the ones with sabot ammo for the 47mm main gun, and the FT. I had a defend against...
