The M14's get a bit longer range, but the M16 has kill 3 instead of kill 2.

Re: Air Farce Follies - Friendly Fire Isn't

Im sure it was a one in a billion thing :)

In the original SP, I once lost a T34 to a stray 81mm mortar shell. Not even a barrage of the things either. Just a single mortar, firing a single shell....

Im on the newest version of Ubuntu, using the Wine version that was in the repo's, and the game works great for me. With one exception.. if sound is on, after a few turns, the icon panel on the right...

Re: Air Farce Follies - Friendly Fire Isn't

I just finished the first scenario (marines holding a hill against a north korean attack) and my planes found a lot of joy in shooting cannon rounds at my Pershings on hte hill, rather than the...

Re: WinSPBT vs WinSPWW2 vs SP3WaW?

The only things I miss from WAW is weapon jamming, immobilized vehicles getting fixed occasionally, and having squads start a few men under strength

Re: Squad Size and Manpower

It also seems those large units take more casualties, though Im not sure how much of that is attributable to low experience

For the first 3 battles (against the Japanese in 42) I've had the following:

4 scouts (I picked the Fighting Patrol because it looked interesting, but I realized I was using tehm as harassing...

Re: Fighting the japanese. Yikes.

Third battle, and things are coming along better.

But man.. I open up with a machine gun team (.50 cal and two .30 cals), kill one of their guys.. and the squad then shoots back and kills one of...

Re: What nation do you prefer to go in battle with?

I'll play around with all sorts of stuff, but Soviet, German, Brit, French and American are the faves.
For minor powers, Finland.

If I had to pick one, I guess I'd go with soviets but it depends...

Swamplands, 1942, americans vs japanese.. and their infantry are no joke at all!
My guys scurry for cover when they have a man down. Their guys take 1-2 casualties and shoot back anyways. Plus, they...

Re: Special operations of the Red Army (long campaign)

(these company level games on a tiny map are moving pretty quick, though I'll increase the mapsize to 30x30 for a bit more maneuver room)

The mission was a success. The Finn's had only a token...

Re: Special operations of the Red Army (long campaign)

We secured all objectives and won great glory for the motherland!

Our losses were 41 men, while 285 imperialists and one AA MG were destroyed.

The paratroops were...
