Re: Some tips for players who are new to Bronze

I thought I would post a few things that have helped me along so far. Even though all races play differently I play the Sumerians differently than what Alex recmomends. I use armies as much as I can...

Re: Year deduction when losing

I am sure you are correct in that assumption.

Now I have almost completed all the campaigns in the full game all three time zones. Now I have lost a lot of maps up to 10 times and have not reached...

Re: Any play guides

Good to see someone from the Combat Mission series. I used to play the first three of their titles a lot, and from memory your signature used to appear a lot in the old days. I do not visit their...

Re: Any play guides

Thanks for the guide you posted after this post, and I am glad they are posting an official one.

I must admit I like to read about what I am going to try first. My gaming time is very limited so I...

Any play guides

I have downloaded the demo, but have no idea how to play this one.

Is there a basic guide or tutorial that I have missed?

Re: This game is a joke

I think if you play the game for what it is intended it works well.
The abstraction is there but as stated you can finish a game in one setting, which is very good.

For me this game is very good...

Re: Welcome Star Legacy Development Group!

Thanks for the link, to that site.

I like the idea of a "scrollable & zoomable" interface. For some reason (apart from activation to get patches) I could not get into "Sins of a Solar Empire" but...

Re: Welcome Star Legacy Development Group!

Good to see another title in the works.

How about throwing us a few bones to mill over.

Has this one anything to do with the space title hinted at in the War Plan Pacific beta forum?

Cheers...

Re: Vote for WPP

I placed my vote. I noticed it looked like you could vote in either of two columns, I chose the left one and it looks like they both updated. Would have been nice for some english text.

Anything...

Re: War Plan Pacific Promo Video

Definately shows more action than the Hearts of Iron 3 vidoes.

I think a follow up video with a voice over talking through a turn describing the thought process of trying to acheive a goal. This...

Re: AI is still too easy to beat.

I have yet to try the new patch, as I have turned on my gaming PC for a week now. Work seems to be getting in the way.

But as of the last patch I thought the AI fairly good, a few exploits that...

Re: What is going on?

Hi Von_Altair

It is shame you are experiencing problems. As far as I can tell most of us are running problem free.

For the games intended market I think the AI is fine and every game has a few...

Re: WPP: AI, does it work?

I think the AI is well balanced for the game type it is.

No glaring problems nor really hard. This meant to be a quick play title and it fits the bill very well.

A good small game with no real...

Re: John Hawkins on Three Moves Ahead this week

A nice interview, and his next project sounds good as well. I hope he develops it through here as well.

I am glad you can download these and load them into your MP3 player to play on the way to...

Re: Starving the japanese out of oil

I have been able to win by starving the Japanese of oil, but have not tried with the latest patch. It used to be my favourite strategy playing the USA in the Beta period.

I found I had to start...

Anyone using 1680 x 1050 wide screen

This week I upgraded my monitor to 22" wide screen. It's native resolution is 1680 x 1050. This resolution does not seem to be selectable for windowed play so I select full screen, but full screen...

How excited are people about hypothetical cold-war games? I mean now that it's relegated to the "Alt-History" realm instead of the "possible-very-near-future" realm? The gaming...

Re: Do you recommend purchasing this game?

If you are after a game with a learning curve of one night to get started this one is for you. The finer points can take a little longer, but you can literally get into it the first setting after you...

Re: Poll : how long are your WPP games ?

I have never been out to 6 hours yet, about 4 hours for the longest game. Shorter for the Japanese as well.

Also I normally play over a few sessions. If I like the game I am playing I tend to drag...

One thing going for this title is no real bad press on this forum, no real disgrunted players.

Re: Knowing Failure?

I have found that carrier forces really help. I have noticed a lot of battles are won or lost on the basis of air power. If one of my bases is low on aircraft I normally try to patrol with carriers....

Re: What's the verdict on this game's AI?

I think the AI is good for it's purpose. Not super hard but not dead easy. If anything a bit on the easy side for an experienced player, but still good enough.

I am sure it will be tweaked by the...
