Squeletons-based units usually have pierce resist, and a few others units (often undeads, but I have not tested all classes yet) get it too when applicable.

From what I understand, at worst you should be able to make and use user created maps, so when playing in a competitive settings it should be possible to use special pre-defined maps created for this...

All paths give +1 to the research value of a mage.

In fact, mage all get as research value some base score (2 or 3 I think) plus the total number of magic ranks (holy doesn't count however).

From what I understand, it sets the map global style : in the empire society for exemple, you should get many towns and cities, and have fewer mystical creature roaming the land and more humans.

Good catch about the time zone, it's probably the source of the different dates.

I see that you can still do a ritual of mastery while already a master necromancer. What does it do at this level ? Give you another spell ? Or is it that there are still other upgrade options above...

The suggestion of posting parts of the manual as a preview seems a good idea for me.

From what is known, the Baron is a fighter-type leader, with no spells but a stronger potential early in the game.

Some units, especially the leaders, can cast special rituels transforming them to...

What did it cost you exactly to activate the colossus? Only a mage turn ?

Do you really have no control to the colossus? He move randomly each turn ?

The game will not be sold by Shrapnel, but by desura.com, where you can already pre-order if you wish (it will save you a few $/€)

Thanks for the AAR.

I like the fact that the combat report the shield use, it helps seeing how effective they are (or not). In dom3, I know that theyr are very useful, especially against ranged...

I think that the question was more in order to know if having desura installed/running is required to play the game (like Steam) or if it is only needed to install/update the game, but not after that...
