Re: Stratego

I have the PC adaption of the game.

Ok, it's not as challenging a Chess, and it's harder than Checkers. You can play it with a kid and not worry if it's too hard. It's fun and doesn't last so long...

Re: Combining WinSPMBT and WinSPWW2 for sale

Thanks for the answer Annette.

I suspect I will be some time before I end up with a shipment, but I likely will be ordering a set some day.

Question of the moment, is Annette a mother? and is...

Stable, running, and I am a happy camper :)

I've been slugging away with a scenario (Ferdinands at Kursk) and the game appears to be free of any hassles.

Two thumbs up for the SP Camo crew.

The Link that was, appears to be currently onlyu a link that was.

A pity I didn't think to copy the mirror links for others.

Sorry to say, but I got mine...

They couldn't possibly make it available on a sunday, think of all the homicidal mothers that would not appreciate being ignored on Mother's day http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Combining WinSPMBT and WinSPWW2 for sale

I have not yet gotten around to purchasing WinSPMBT on disc, but it is something that crosses my mind often enough.

I am curious, when WinSPWW2 is finished (which appears soon), I am assuming it...

Re: WinSPMBT patch version 2.0

Excellent, now I can go solidify my decision to add a purchased cd copy to my christmas list knowing the patch being finished is past tense.

Great job all who are responsible for bringing us this.

Re: Gas Prices

$1.18 (metric) price here in Ontario.

Ouch, that is going to hurt.

I have plans to journey to see a buddy with another buddy in next couple of days.
A short jaunt, and the driver friend has a...

Re: Gas Prices

"There was a story about DVD-R price rises"

Rising prices?

Heck, blank dvds seem to be so cheap now, I actually find needing an actual blank cd occasionally to be a nuisance, as a dvd holds...

Re: Gas Prices

What should be mentioned, is gas prices is not just about the cost of getting around in your car.

When they talk about oil, they mean everything made with it.

I don't have a car, but I just...

Re: Do you carry?

I don't have a gun, but I do have this magnificent walking stick I use as a cane for when I walk in excess of 3 blocks (where having it is useful to my mobility).

Made from a sledge hammer handle...

Re: OVER THERE! Great!

Hmm this is a quandry. Over at SZO, a poster made such a scathing report of the show, that I think it could be nominated, as the worst crud to come out on media in years.

But, considering my views...

Re: Baby dies while parents play World of Warcraft

To extend Joe's thoughts.

When I got married, I had to endure several sessions on marriage. Likely had something to do with wanting a church ceremony I suppose.

The lessons were moronic plain...

Re: Loosing on purpose: morally justifiable?

If a person is a "total novice" I tend to overly state every permutation of potential action during training games.

I never play a person as an equal, when it is clear they ain't.

For me, well,...

Re: Loosing on purpose: morally justifiable?

There is no second place in life, but there is in games.

Someone HAS to be second place (unless you are playing solo eh). The AI doesn't count either.

I can't expect everyone to game the way I...

Re: Baby dies while parents play World of Warcraft

The key to this story, is two adults are criminally negligent, regardless if babies die all the time whether a parent tries everything under the sun to prevent it from happening.

No, it wasn't the...

After reading an article in Reader's Digest, I might buy a very rare item online with my credit card, but I have ZERO desire to use that credit card ANTWHERE in the brick and mortar world.

The...

Re: electronic delivery

Digital Downloads are cool for those that can handle them.

I like them enough to use them.

I just wish more companies would emulate the serial number process in use at Matrix Games.
Fewer...

Re: What Kind Of Games Would You Like To See Made?

It sounds like you refer to the "abomination" that merely wore the great name of Squad Leader, but had little if any conection with that great game.

I believe it was called Beyond Squad Leader,...

Re: Terrorists

Death is part of being human.

I only hope when I die, it isn't from being stupid, or as a result of someone else that was stupid.

I hear of the occasional piece of "good news" I just wish good...

Re: Terrorists

I wouldn't go that far.

I recall the Koran story, and my first reaction was "who cares, just another fairy tale book anyway".

I hear about a terrorist beheading, and my initial reaction is,...

Re: Terrorists

There's an old saying "the truth hurts".

A lot of merit in that.

The only real problem I have with most news media, is they have a choice to print a story about something positive, or a story...

Re: Terrorists

The Media is about "selling" the news, not making it.

They only "sell" news that sells, and I often think they will ignore anything if it is limited in potential to "sell".

That said, I think...

Re: Terrorists

Regarding Terrorists.

Has anyone ever seen anyone ever offer even the most unlikely way of actually dealing with them in a way that actually might work?

The US calls it a "war on terror" but...
