I'd guess the main question is how hard is the limit on a 256x2 texture map for ships?

How big are the textures your showing here? They look pretty detailed so I'm thinking at least 256x2 each....

Here's a small update. The sides of the ship were too plain, so I added "wings". Updated the tail section. Removed the wing root cannon in favor of a chin turret.

That's all I'm going to do on...

New ship model trial

Hi,

Just trying out adding a new model to the game. Here's a pic (check the attachment) of my new corvette model. Obviously, there's a submarine flavor to it.

Model is about 440 tri's.

Yup.

I had a great time with SEIV and was eagerly looking forward to SEV. The developer here has made a mind-bogglingly ill-advised move to release the game in this condition. Let's hope it's not...

This is exactly the same with me, neo.

It seems like it's better when I play at a lower resolution, but it still crashes even then.
