Re: Who's Left?

I've been fiddling with really bizarre mod concepts off and on but not really playing much. Would making a new SEV mod be a waste of my time? What I've been toying with would take a great deal of...

Re: Interest in SE5 Expansion?

I'd pay for an expansion. I'd love to see UI improvements, as the shoddy UI kills this otherwise stellar game.

Re: to hit %?

Actually, I've been experimenting with huge to-hit modifiers and have seen some interesting effects. All things considered, I think some of them make sense.

Really...a Fighter a few feet away...

Re: Alien Contact Covered Up

You know, the funniest thing about that was, a few decades ago, a bunch of scientists got together and formulated this idea of what life needs, what ranges life can live in, and the list of places...

Re: atmosphere query

No, planets are domed so long as there is at least one race that can't breathe the atmosphere. However, the problem will resolve itself, as migrating races prefer to move toward planets with...

Re: OT: Suggestions for getting to sleep?

NyQuil.

As somebody that is utterly immune to the drowsiness of everything, I can tell you that NyQuil makes you more or less comatose no matter what.

Re: OT: My current webhosting isn\'t worth what I p

Dreamhost. That's all I'm saying.

I pay like $100 a year for FTP access to my URL which is easy to get to with FileZilla, all the MySQL I can eat (it's limited...somehow...but I won't ever use...

Re: OT: We Are All Now Criminals Under The Law

Eloquently put, Mr. Zero.

One of the biggest problems with MySpace is that it's easy to hate. Kind of a Wal-Mart syndrome there. Similar to IM programs, if you look at it. The news is often...

Re: OT: We Are All Now Criminals Under The Law

That's a terrible example. In fact, that's even radically different. I'm not even going to argue with you on either point because comparing messaging somebody on MySpace to locking somebody in a...

Re: Where are the downloads?

I'm well aware of that, but in that case, it was mostly DoGA. Plus, you didn't need to worry about how the other side of the ship looked, or if all of the polygons would become a "slideshow mode:...

Re: OT: We Are All Now Criminals Under The Law

Stalking, harassment, child enticement, yes...but, if you look at it, nobody really "causes" a suicide. Suicidal people are, in a lot of ways, ticking time bombs. If you don't defuse them, they...

Re: Where are the downloads?

Part of the problem is that making new things for SEV is much more difficult. The 3D nature is what does that. With SEIV you didn't need to worry about that so long as you had a presentable 2D...

Re: SEV question

Ultimately, it grew out of using electrical current to fuel memory. Magnetism could be used as well, but we'll stick with the electricity. A "bit" represents the smallest form of memory available,...

Re: SEV question

And bytes are based on bits. That's where the 0 to 255 "standard byte" crap comes from.

00000000 translates to 0. 11111111 translates to 255. How a program interprets that is up to the...
