Re: Screensaver Request

Woah. Army?

Yah, that would cut into your free time a bit!

Re: Screensaver Request

Do those guys have any intention of putting more work into this game, or is it pretty much abandoned?

Re: Experimental Anti-Kawangi Tactics

You do realize you can use the Mirror to bounce the Kawangi back to systems he's already destroyed, yes? With that tactic you can hold it at bay pretty much indefinitely.

Re: Too short

Every review I've read for WW has made it very clear that it's designed so you can play an entire game in a few minutes. If you expected more than that it's your fault, not the developers.

Re: Lol @ Lookout Frogs

This reminds me of my favorite computer game, "Robot Finds Frog".

"well thought out"?? What is there to think out? Their function is very simple.

Re: Hired help always accepts offers?

In other words, the "hiring" system is a pointless mess.

If you offer something they don't want, they'll work for you anyway and disintegrate the payment.

If you offer them something they do...

Re: Hyperdrive too easy!

You wanna talk brutal-- try DUAL PVCs sometime. Can be tough to get a game with the PVC and a Timeless Bauble, but when you do... heheheh...

Re: Can\'t drop stuff down black holes = bad

Alternatively, you could modify the inventory system so that item-giving scripted events are exempt from space constraint checks. So at worst the cargo bay might be overstuffed by a couple of items....

Can\'t drop stuff down black holes = bad

Try this little experiment--

Get a golden canister, and the thing that lets you visit black holes. Now completely fill up your cargo bay.

Visit a black hole. Use the canister. You now have an...

Re: No hitchhikers please!

Yeah, I've done that with Ripcord (seemed appropriate), but I'd rather just leave them behind, then go around and scoop them up afterwards for the points.

No hitchhikers please!

This one's really been annoying me lately--

Sometimes, I WANT to solo through the universe, seeing how well I can do with just my starting ship. But for some reason the devs decided to have !@#$%*...

Re: Easier way to see damage in combat

I hate it. In the name of making battles more immersive, or impressive, or whatever, they basically made it so you have to use pause to keep up with your ships' conditions.

Yeah, it's really fun...

Re: problems with beam sweeping?

I thought that's what the devs intended anyway, since they removed the ability to easily monitor the shield and hull status of all your ships during combat.

Re: problems with beam sweeping?

That sounds utterly tedious, bordering on "exploit" territory.

Re: Wishing... I don\'t get it.

They really need to change this so it gives different feedback on asking for an existing unique item VS asking for something that doesn't exist. The current system causes exactly the sort of...

Re: Klakar Trader

Buh? There's no trick to using the Klakar effectively beyond the obvious-- only call them in when you're just slightly outclassed, and don't wait until things are "already out of hand" to do it.

Re: The Patch!

Heh, yeah, now that I think about it they can fly right over black holes, so they'd pretty much have to have an anti-graviton shunt.

Still, the game should probably check to make sure it's not...

In the demo, I once found a Klakar trader orbiting a Black Hole. Is this supposed to happen?

Re: Why I won\'t be buying the game - detailed repo

No mystery here. Sounds like you want the game to be BattleCruiser 3000AD instead of a quick 10-minutes-of-fun game as it was designed to be.

Re: Timeless Bauble changed...?

I'd like to suggest a change for the patch--

If you type in something that exists elsewhere on the map, have him say something like, "An excellent choice, but I don't have one of those."

The...

Re: First Impressions (speed of light)

And once again, I must point out that these battles are interactive, not passive. You know what REALLY reminds me that "it's a game"? Seeing the Game Over screen because I got killed because some...

Re: First Impressions (speed of light)

First, changing the direction of light is not the same as changing its speed. Second, and more importantly, nobody cares.

My POINT was that your various engine upgrades don't change the speed of...

Re: ramming question

Something that's been driving me insane is that, if I'm trying to ram a ship, but there are any other ships nearby, my ship's AI will start flopping around randomly in an attempt to get away from the...
