Re: Computer player - attacks/counterattacks. How it works ?

Does the VH have a value? The AI will drive toward the highest value hex that is closest. If the VH has no value the AI will ignore it.

Re: Few easy questions

The MOBHack guide located in the Mobhack folder is very useful for exploring things like this. I was about to answer but Jud already did. Still quoting the guide...

Re: Obat15 - Australia

I couldn't find any good interior shots of the M113-106RR which is what I'm assuming is what you are declaring as equivalent to the FSV. You can kind of tell by the exterior pics that the 106mm RR is...

Re: Obat15 - Australia

Googling came up with various pics of the interior of the M113A1 FSV

Best interior shot taken from rear door....

Re: Iran Oob #10

Because when I tried deleting them I ended up with no icon Test units still in my game. That might have been because I didn't see them until I started a new mission and once that mission was...

Iran Oob #10

6.0 release Contains 2 Boragh ATGM APCs Units 971 and 972 which appear to be ROF test units as they are named Test ROF 4 and Test ROF 9. These units are included in some formation somewhere but I'm...

Re: MRAPs

Fair enough Pat. I was just tossing the idea out there. Your argument against nerfing them is reasonable.

Re: MRAPs

Call me crazy but if the only place where they would outperform 2wd is desert, which seems reasonable, then 2wd seems a fair choice.

Re: MRAPs

I was reading an article about MRAPs which made me want to post the following. Apologies if it is already covered. I don't use MRAPs much if at all. Also perhaps this is the wrong thread for it but...

Re: OpFire during unload

Why does everyone assume this was rushed? I'm talking about a secured VHex cluster that was cleared like 3 or 4 turns ago. I go back with a damaged APC. I gather the lagging/damaged units and drop...

Re: OpFire during unload

You know the "pop smoke" idea seems equally reasonable but I'm certain that wouldn't work with the code either.

Just gets annoying when you gather up damaged infantry squads, scouts, lagging MGs...

Re: OpFire during unload

Yeah... didn't think it would be possible. It just gets very frustrating when you dismount damaged or lagging units on a newly secured VP Hex only to discover that you missed a MG 850m away.

OpFire during unload

In a way the current rules are nice and cruel but the more I think of the one minute time frame makes me wonder...

Should a transport unloading generate an OpFire for each enemy viewing on each...

Re: Adventures in Campaign Building by a Beginner

Don... this isn't a howto... It is kind of a running guide of the issues confronting a beginner. Things that I wish I knew before I started.

I mean seriously in some post on these boards Suhiir...

Re: Adventures in Campaign Building by a Beginner

10) Waypoints? What waypoints?

Seriously, do not bother! Armored cars, Scouts, some helos don't even pay attention (this is the part we know). If it isn't on map on turn 0 they might still not pay...

Re: Adventures in Campaign Building by a Beginner

8) We could for a moment talk about the randomness in the results of the AI. It will only actually take a moment.

It is not random at all and it isn't an AI. Top down target selection with...

Re: Adventures in Campaign Building by a Beginner

Re: Adventures in Campaign Building by a Beginner

5) It is hideously important that any decision to change a unit type adheres to unit class! Changing a infantry scout units weapons will not change its basic scout desire to only fire at range 1!

While it is uncertain what the initial valid target happens to be this much is certain... given above preferential treatment...
