Re: New Campaigns

I was thinking of starting a campaing over these holidays. I'm not sure whether to do a wwII or plasmakrabs new oob. Either way, it would be a large scaled compaign - arm. btn. task force.

I...

Re: Fixed: New Cold War 2020 mod release! (RC 0.4)

Plasma,

Any campaigns planned with this OOB? I'd like to try one as the US. You had helped with a 1953 campaign once - deploying Soviet Airborne forces for one of the battles. I remember it...

Wulfir -next battle

There is a short readme in the zip file. The russians should be both dug in - on the southern portion of the map protecting the bridge - and counter attacking to one degree or another.

My...

Re: AI deployment in generated battles

Yes, i know. I meant that the AI keying off more than three VH combined with the EXISTING ability to manually position VH's.

I find that repositioning VH's works quite well when...

Re: AI deployment in generated battles

So AI will deploy around each and every VH? That will be a nice step foward, along with the ability to position VH is obviously defensive terrain.

Any way to code the AI so that it preferes to...

Re: AI deployment in generated battles

Something else to note (which i discovered by accident after years of playing) is that when the AI delays or defends it places its units around certain victory hexes; nuber 0,7, and 14. So, if you...

Re: Need someone to deploy Russian\'s

Wulfir, i may very well take you up on my offer. It'll take a week or so to get through this scenario. I'll try to post a map up in the next couple of days though.

Need someone to deploy Russian\'s

I'm starting a new German campaign, Spring '41. I'm looking for someone to purchase and deploy russian defenders. Russian's are delaying, & should have 4000 to 5000 points worth of units. Some...

Re: Excelent Campaign feature not mentioned before

And i just discovered the reason i had never noticed the 'magnet' effect of Victory hexes. It seems the only Victory hexes that function as 'magnets' are numbers 0, 7 and 14. Almost all computer...

The Computer now places AI forces (in campaigns & battles) near the objecive hexes in delay and defense scenarios. In the past, the computer just...

Re: WW3 campaigns?

i started building a 1956 campaign some time ago but only got a few scenarios into it (it was on the dos version). It is an interesting timeframe for SPMBT - US and Soviet armor was on par with each...

Re: Campaign Start Line

You can mark out a convoluted player deployment area with the 'text' functions, using dashes, slashes, etc. as forward line. Players could cheat if they are so inclined, but then again, they can...

Re: Special Forces

Regarding the 10/10 vs. 15/15, the marines and SEALs start 5 points higher (mabe 10) than the army units, because the base of the regualar marines is higher than the army. So adding 15 to army units...

Re: US armor Btn TOE 1950\'s

Looked at the site - thanks. Seems as if the US division structure was a basket case during the late 50's. So, does a reasonable 1950 armor battalion consist of;

HHC x 1
Tank Company x 2...

Re: Special Forces

I've thought a good way to represent US Special Forces - in a campaign anyway - is to create an elite 6 man HQ team (the normal HQ unit in a campaign), and then three two-man company HQ teams. These...

Re: US armor Btn TOE 1950\'s

I've been doing some research on US TOE during the 50's. Apparently, they tried a "pentomic division" during the late 1950s. A inf. division had 5 manuever groups in between a btn. and regt. No...

US armor Btn TOE 1950\'s

Does anyone know what the TO&E of a US armored Btn was from 1953 to 1959? Was it two tank heavy companies and one armor inf. company? Each of three platoons, with two tank and one armor inf, or two...
