Have you ever read Castro’s essay on beards? He sets out, at great length, how wasteful shaving is. He calculated the time and expense that each man goes through every morning shaving. He then multiplies it by the number of men in Cuba and calculates the wasted man-hours and resources each year. His conclusion is that shaving is counter revolutionary and a waste. Thus, his bushy beard.
