Tiny Hero Casts "Raise Features"!
Update for Land of Legends Now Available!
Hampstead, NC, 12 October 2005
With a wave of the amazing mystical wonderous wand of computing Seattle-based
developer Tiny Hero Game Studios has just summoned an enchanting update to their new
fantasy strategy game, Land of Legends. And yes, while the version 1.10 update includes
a couple of bug fixes, the centerpiece of the update lies in the brand new features that
Tiny Hero has added to its already groovy game.
These great new game features include:
* The ability to save in progress! Probably the most requested feature, players can now
save skirmish games in progress (either hotseat or AI sessions), and save during
campaign missions. Once a campaign mission is reloaded that save is deleted, but
each mission has its own save slot and can be saved independent of each other. It
should also be noted that an interesting side effect of the new ability to save in a
skirmish is the ability to now play via PBEM! Simply send the save file to an
opponent via email.
* Two new maps for multiplayer mayhem and skirmishing: Crater Lake and Twin
Peaks.
* Full access to all eight races during online play. Previously the races were unlocked
as the player leveled up online.
* Many new keyboard shortcuts added, including the ability to end battle animations by
hitting either the space bar or the escape key.
* A grid can be toggled on over the maps to help players plan their actions.
* Some new game animations for aesthetics, such as when a unit is eliminated it fades
out on the map as a skull and crossbones highlights its demise.
A few bugs had slipped into the code when Tiny Hero wasn't looking, but thanks to their
righteous might they have successfully completed a "turn bug" action and sent them
packing to bug vahalla! The two most notable bug turnings include:
* Sometimes when a player lost certain campaign missions the game would crash. This
has been corrected.
* The Arcatta4 mission in the Legendary Campaign was unbeatable because of a badly
placed enemy unit. Oops. The unit has been removed and the mission is now quite
beatable (it may still be tough, but at least not impossible now).
A complete listing of all feature upgrades, bug fixes, and other assorted changes can be
found on the same page as the patch, which can be downloaded from:

Land of Legends is a Windows based title of fantasy battle action in the vein of
Advanced Wars for the Gameboy. Players control one of eight unique races in either a
multi-mission spanning campaign game or in quick skirmish games against the AI or
other opponents. With a built-in matchmaking utility finding opponents is made easy,
and players will enjoy seeing their fame (or infamy, as the case may be) tracked online
for all to see. It is available now and can be purchased through the Shrapnel Games e-
store, the Gamers Front (
www.gamersfront.com) for $34.95.
