Don sorry the delay. You'll be getting a PM from me and we'll leave it at that here.
Just going to do this
"by the numbers" pertaining to my last Post #1995.
First again only a
blueprint for a patent has been submitted for that Russian Urban Assault tank (18/19 June 2025).
Not even any Western country can get from Blueprint to fielding a tank within 5yrs.
That being said, as usual the ICON looks
fantastic!
Now to the "SK"
K1A2...
1. Concerning
KSTAM the weapon is
NOT exported to any other country. Types...
A.
KSTAM I Was developed with the cooperation of
Israel. It was developed from the Israeli
105mm EXCALIBUR round. Range was between
2.5km to 5km. Penetration unknown but is considered one of the best Top Attack weapons in the world. It was taken out of service by the following somewhere I believe between
2018 - 2020.
B.
KSTAM II Was also jointly developed this time with
DIEHL of Germany. The basis for development was from the German
SMart 155 round. KSTAM II range is at
least 8km and
possibly out to
10km. In-service for
K2 and now also as documented the
K1A2 since at least
2020 confirmed to possibly 2018.
Both KSTAM systems are top attack and apparently
very effective. I am reminded that both are inline with
STRIX in basic operations
I.E. Shoot and Forget, High Trajectory, Parachute enabled w/Radar/Visual detection and secondary rocket assisted attack mode.
2.
K1A2 is
NOT exported. The article was just noting it's rare or not previously operated outside of Korea before the International Exercise Australia is currently in.
https://www.npr.org/2025/07/14/g-s1-...ions-australia
Note KIA2 is pictured on top.
3. You can safely
delete the KIA2 from Australia.
4. I
HIGHLY concur in your decision to add to South Korea the
K1A2+.
Just forgot... have seen graphs showing
PALIDAN (Or older models.) plus I believe an 8x8 artillery platforms also firing
KSTAM. This would make sense and
not much different than the French
BONUS or others.
Sorry for any confusion this caused.
Regards,
Pat
