New sniper rifle
I just saw this.
According to it, new sniper rifles for the Greek Army, Special Forces in particular, were acquired recently.
Steyr SSG M1, with something called Picatinny on them with various accessories like scopes, night vision scopes, suppressors, etc.
Following this more will be acquired for further needs. (regular forces? I don't know)

Re: New sniper rifle
The Picatinny is the mounting rail for those "various accessories"

Exactly. In fact, there are G3A3 rifles in the regular infantry units that have a Picatinny rail nowadays.

Re: New sniper rifle
It's the common way to mount a scope these days. I have one on both my Enfield and K98 attached to no-drill mounts
