The game is autosaved each time you start a new level, the autosave overwrites the older one. Then at the end of each world, you can save to a named game save.

You've got to learn to keep your lantern burning low until you need it. Once you master the lantern, oil is never a problem.

If you want to extend the playtime of the demo, just pop into /Media/Config/levels.cfg and turn up all the map sizes. You could also try making some new types of shroom and weaponry, it's all quite easy. There are some tutorials starting to appear on our website, at www.chronicreality.co.uk

I've tried the demo. Not bad, I like the lantern feature. By the way I'm running a Win 98SE system and it ran no problems !

Yeah, it will actually work just fine on 98SE.

Be sure to try out a little old modding with the demo, too!

The demo will allow you to mod quite a bit, although as you would expect the full game allows much more. One example of a difference is in the full game is the ability to load up full mods that have been created from the menu.

In the demo you can modify the demo graphics, music, and all the stats. You can jump in by looking at the files found with the demo and tinkering, or check out the scripting guide found on the download page for Scallywag here on the Shrapnel site. This will provide an explanation of how all the variables work.
