Default Problems loading a game

My computer crashed during a battle replay. Since he does that occasionally I saved just before that replay, because I gave quite some orders in the two hours before.
Unfortunately after the crash I couldn't load the saved .2h file. Without question the game loads the beginning of the turn.
I looked it up and the .2h file is there, has the correct modification date and seems to have a reasonable size.

What could be wrong and can it perhaps be fixed?

Are you using MODs in the game? or a heavily programmed MAP?

It's probably not unreasonable for either to be capitalized for emphasis, not to mention .MAP is the extension for the map files. Besides, it's a bit ironic that you would point something like that out using punctuation and capitalization akin to a text message. The Sombre kool-aid must be some strong stuff, huh?

All right, knock it off with the sniping nitpicks. Using full capitalization for emphasis is a valid posting tactic, since we have all seen enough instances where not doing so leads the person being spoken to mistaking the two.

As far as personal opinions on other posters go, keep them out of this thread unless they become relevant, because in and of themselves they do not serve anyone.

Thank you Edi. Yes it was meant for emphasis. Especially since many tend to not consider "heavily programmed" to be able to refer to maps. I was hoping for a quick response from the OP (original poster) but since he hasnt I will continue to the next part.

Olm, you can email the .trn file for the game to info on the illwinter site for the developers to look at.

However... if an unusual map is involved then you might need to include that. And if mods are involved then you might also want to include those. I would tend to look at a mod first as the problem and if it is a mod then the developers might not get to it very quickly.

Also... if you know how to modify the command line for the game then adding -dd to it will generate a text debug file. The very end of that might have information on why it crashed

Others can better explain how to do any of that if you feel you want to go that far.

Ups, forgot about this thread.
It was quite close before our deadline, so I decided fastest was to play everything over again.

The game was not heavily modded (current CBM) and the map was Orania.
