Default Ship and fleet experience functional?

I tried to increase the effect of ship and fleet experience and went up to a maximum of 50% offense and defense bonus each. I tested a maximum trained fleet/ship (should give 100% bonus combined) against an untrained ship (both with DUC, same combat sensor, ecm) and found no difference in the hit chance (real combat, no simulator, SEV V 1.44).
Anybody seen ship and fleet experience really have an effect??

Experience has no maximum in SE5, and it is not percentage based.
You seem to be mixing SE4/5 in that post...

Check out ShipExperience.txt to see what the effects should be.

I am talking about SE V 1.44
Experience points have no maximum, that is true.
However the combat bonus that is generated by the experience level has a maximum as stated in the shipexperience.txt file and this is in %. And this bonus seems not to function.

I probably found the problem: The combat to hit defense/offense ability uses a group ID (amount 2), which decides if two values of the same ability stack or just the higher value is used. If the ship already has a combat sensor/ecm then the bonus gained by the ship/fleet experience will have no effect.
The solution: give the ship experience bonus the value 6 as amount 2 for the bonus and for the fleet bonus the value 7. Then they stack with each other and master computer/ecm/combat sensor/stealth and scattering armor.

At least that is what I found so far. Any confirmation would however be appreciated.

That seems the likely fix. It was the same "bug" with vehicle sizes and bonuses before.

Sounds like ship training facilities are useless? I guess Holy war totems aren't helpful either?
