Default Mother Gaia, Mana Battery

You might find this technique useful with Man, Marverni, Pangaia.

Usually, we avoid casting very high fatigue spells from small communions. Mana loss pegs at 200, so usually it is better to fatigue out a single cster than an entire communion. However there are times this isn't so.

I've often talked about writing an advanced Communion Guide. If I ever did, this would be part of it.

Suitable for pretenderst that
A). Have a lot of hp.
B). Regen a lot.
C). Preferably have recuperate/regenerate

So, lets imagine for a minute

.y
yxy
.y

dd
dd

y are low level nature mages.
x is your mana battery. {Gaia, Wyrm, whatever). With a slave crystal.

dd are your marveni druids, or shamans.. or..

Gaia is acting as a mana battery for all 4 druids. As you would suspect they will repidly knock her over 200 fatigue. And she will take HP loss, once over 200.

Why a mana battery - well.
a). She regenerates 23+ hp a turn.
b). The little y's are scripted for heal, healing song, whatever.
A touch delivered heal is *very* rarely useful.. but it is here, where it can delive DRN healing.

So, in this case, Momma Gaie would be regen'ing 23 pts of damage + 30pts of damage + 10 pts of stun.

If you have a communion master hit her with strength of gaia, self regen, give her a ring of regen - you can boost her battery to 100/turn pretty easy.

Of course, losing sucks as your god will die. But the plan is not to lose, right?

And yes, this is a special endcase, not always useful

Long battles: what happens when her healing contingent goes off script?
Do they continue to heal or do they start spamming something else?

Well, with the right nations, (and the right research) thats not that much of an issue. You do have to experiment, but I find bards will cast soothing songs fairly reliably, for example.

Similarly, I've had pretty good luck single path nature mages casting heal spells.

the metric seems to be that the computer likes to hit the biggest target possible with the most damage possible.

by that metric the touch heal spells score pretty well.
