World FirstWorld - My first map

This afternoon I decided to try my hand at making a map. I've no prior modding or mapping experience, and no real experience with image editing tools (Gimp), but I think this turned out alright!

First World: Most of the world's farmland is located along the fertile river valleys and adjacent to the large lakes. A magical wasteland occupies the center of the world, while small mountain outcroppings and the lakes create regional choke points.

If my count is correct, there are 90 land and 15 water provinces (10 of which are contiguous), which makes the map suitable for 6 or 7 land and 1 water nation. Provinces without 4 or 5 neighbors are set to nostart.

Little black huts designate large provinces. Stars are provinces with a higher chance of sites.

I done one short play-through, but I could use any critiquing or advice you guys might have in regards to colours, shape, balance, etc etc etc

Enjoy!

It looks nice.

Just a heads up though, FirstWorld.map is looking for "FirstWorld v0.9.tga" and the file you packaged is named "FirstWorld.tga".

Oh, thanks. I did a couple last minute changes, and must have packed the wrong pair. I'll fix that now.

Looks like that's the proper map. The mistake was just in the improper call in .map file.

Yeah I just renamed my file and it worked fine. I played a game through and didn't come across any bugs.
