Default Armour attack helicopter ?

For certain it was discussed, but please explain:

Why armour attack helicopter (AH-64, Mi-24 and etc.) are destroyed from M-16 and AK-74 and others similar rifle ?

It occurs almost always if was hit will be and damage.

Personally I have never seen it happening but I think it is correct anyway.
Helicopters and aircrafts are generally not fully armored in the same way an APC is. Some vital areas have armor, there is redundancy etc but sustained rifle fire is still going to be dangerous, though not a practical way to shoot down an helicopter.

For the same reason that the USA lost an Apache to an Iraqi farmer with an old rifle.

If you get close to infantry, they will hose a helo down, and sometimes cause damage. Less often to an armoured one, but even they have bits that are not armoured, or bullets will go inside louvres, gearboxes, into turbine air intakes (which have to be open to suck in the air (and hence bullets)!) and so on.

FOD ingestion into aircraft engines is a major hazard - I recall doing a defence exercise at RAF Leuchars when in the TA back in the 1970s. No blanks were allowed to be fired inside the airbase wire, because of FOD hazards from the brass. We were based around the air-sea rescue helicopter part of the base. And so if we saw an 'intruder' it was a case of shouting 'bang' . Outside the wire in Tentsmuir forest mags of blank went on, but on patrol return it was mags off and check weapons were clear before entering the base.
