Default Indian ACV-IP Carrier

Well over 4,600 ACV-IP's were produced in India between 1940-44.

A wheeled 4x4 armoured carrier the ACV-IP mostly took the place of the Bren carrier in Indian units in WWII. It saw extensive service in North Africa, the Far East and Italy with Indian Army units. The Armoured Carrier Vehicle-Indian Pattern had the local Indian name of 'Tatanagar'.

The ACV-IP was also used fairly widely by New Zealand forces in WWII (the Royal New Zealand Artillery still used them in the Korean War).
