Default Out of curiosity: Overlord Squads

Hi,

I just wonder, for years now, when going through Nationalist China OOB I can spot Overlord Companies - and Overlord Squads with them - armed with some Garands, Soviet DP and having commando modifier as well as training bonus.

I literally cannot dig **** about these guys. Who were they actually? Game does not explain it anyhow - I mean there are no green notes in the detailed screen.

There are NO "Overlord Companies" in the official game OOBs.

None

There ARE "Overlord Squads" that are used with KMT Commando formations so these are the elite troops of the Kuomintang Army.

Their addition predates my taking over the OOB's and IDK why they are referred to as "Overlord"

So... what units do they actually represent? Like, did KMT have dedicated commando regiments? I ask from historical perspective, not for the sake of the game itself.

And where's the name coming from?
