The minor bless gives your units a higher chance to cause afflictions when the damage opponents(this also effects their ranged weapons and, iirc, spells). The major bless gives your sacreds melee attacks a secondary effect of 2AN damage, MR negates(easily?).

How useful is this bless if you destroy your opponent anyway ?
Does it change enemy units' stats during the battle ?

Well the afflictions change the units stats(blind, lost an arm ect) and the major bless can help vrs heavily armed opponents but generally fire is better(higher damage with major, higher attack with minor).

If you have sacred archers/mages you would like to see causing alot of afflictions or if you wanted death on your pretender anyway then its handy, its also handy if you have fairly cheap sacreds/sacreds with multiple attacks as it lets them cripple enemy SCs later on.

There's been discussion about using the Death Bless with sacred mages. The affliction rate is included on spell damage. So if you have something that hits a lot of enemy units in a single casting like Blade Wind, you could have roving defensive armies of 3-4 mages intercept incoming armies and inflict huge amounts of wounds on them.

The thing is I want to try The Mother of Monsters D5N4 for a Carrion Woods Strategy with LA Pangaea.

Pangaea seems to have nice sacred units and summons.

I haven't played this before, but I was wondering how effective the Death Bless will be ?

Not particularly effective, although you dont have very much magic for a bless. If you want a LA Pan bless try an E9N9 Gorgon(imprisoned) or an E9N4 Gorgon(dormant/imprisoned), the bless helps hoplites, centaurs and grove guard commanders.

Death bless is most effective against concentrated, elite, expensive enemy armies (SCs in particular). Nobody wants to send their awake pretender into a group of dudes who are likely to make both their arms fall off!

That's what I started with ... but after going through the enchantments I noticed the Carrion Woods Ritual so I reckoned I needed Death Magic on my pretender if I wanted to cast that spell.
But maybe the DN-Pans can be given magic-boosting-items so they can cast that rituel, correct ?

I'd love to hear some more tips, if you don't mind on how to play this strategy as I've never used it before and am not particularly used to playing with Death either.

There's a very nice path boosting item list in the very, very back of the manual. It's invaluable.
