Default Mouse problems in WW?

I've noticed that sometimes (not always) my mouse goes nuts while I'm playing Weird Worlds: It begins to double-click when I've only clicked it once — and sometimes that one click will get me numerous false clicks in a row, which can be a real problem when I'm trying to install or swap a system. In one case, attempting to remove system X resulted in removing it, reinstalling it, removing it, reinstalling it, and removing it again — all from ONE actual click — and then it took another month or so of game time to put system Y in its place and get it to stay there.

Needless to say, that's really damned frustrating.

I'd think maybe the mouse's button is going bad, except that it only seems to start doing that while I'm playing Weird Worlds — but again, only sometimes, not always. When it does happen though, it continues doing it even after I've quit the game, and won't function correctly until I reboot.

Has anybody else experienced that phenomenon? Got any idea what might be causing it?

Default Re: Mouse problems in WW?

All I can say is I haven't seen it.

The closest I've seen is with my Microsoft Optical Intellimouse on a Win98SE computer, which occasionally gets confused and starts going nuts with the mousewheel, which affects the button inputs, and can be cleared pretty reliably by clicking the mouse wheel once or twice. But that happens to me at random in any Windows app, on that computer only.

My only suggestion that comes to mind would be to try switching mice with another computer, if you have one to trade with, and see if that has any effect.
