Default Multiple weapons in squads

Currently the OOBs treat multiple support weapons in squads (SAWs/LMGs/etc.) the same way it treats twin/triple/quad weapons mounts. That is to say they're given the same Accuracy as a single weapon and an increase in HE Kill.

While this makes obvious sense for multi-gun mounts; the guns are fixed and fire at the same point, and if they hit they'll probably do more damage then a single-gun mount. Does this logic apply to multiple weapons in a squad? Each weapon is individual and unlikely to be aimed at the same target (even tho WinSPMBT treats infantry-type units as a single entity).

Perhaps multiple support weapons in squads would be better represented in the game by giving then increased Accuracy, multiple weapons are more likely to generate a hit: but leave the HE Kill the same as a single weapon, since even tho they're more likely to hit they don't hit "harder" then a single weapon.

While implementing this would require alteration of the effected OOBs, but looking thru them it's not nearly as bad as one might think.

Perhaps change the names to read "2xWhatever" rather then "Whatever (2)", make them easy to find with searches.

Any thoughts on this from anyone?

I prefer "Whatever (2)" variant. Or "Whatever x2".

I'm not so sure about that - yes, with two weapons, you have a better chance that one of them hits than if you only have one gun at all; so that would suggest higher ACC.
But you can also get hits from both, which would suggest higher KILL.

Incidentally, you could make the same argument about multi-gun mounts - after all, the main reason why AA tends to use them is not to get more rounds on target, but to increase the chance that there are any hits at all...

True, the more lead you throw at something moving the greater the chance to hit. But I suspect the main reason is to hit it hard enough (particularly with smaller caliber, 40mm and under) to do significant damage.
