Default Dimensional Rod

Well Goody....

I was trying to boost one of my commanders 1 more level to forge something and stuck Dimensional rod on him.

Now, of course since its CURSED, its stuck on him.

The Manual really doesn't give much of a description on what it does in battle (since I guess thats what he is going to use) so I was hoping someone could tell me what this "Shift a person out".

Is it worth even messing with or just using it for forgeing and ritual casting?

Also what is this insanity about. Its kind of a medium important commander so I really need to know.

Any info is welcome..Thanks

It's "good" because it's an astral booster for the hand slot.

Makes it easier to cast wish, etc.

I think it might send people it hits to 'lost in time and space'.

I suspect that "shift them out" means they have a chance to get lost in time and space, as is the case that really good artifacts have drawbacks.

Actually, when you equip it, if you look at the weapon's stats it says it performs a "Dimensional shift" when you strike someone with it. With that in mind, it probably makes that person get lost in time and space.

I just tested it with the Debug mod, which you should really get to test this stuff yourself, and the rod does this;

Give quickness (+3 def/attack, extra attack)
Casts dimensional shift on someone when you hit them which makes them disappear from the battlefield. I suspect it makes them lost in time and space.

It's good for a while but than it get's not so good. The commander holding it will became insane over a period of time.

It's only about one insanity per turn I think.

It leaves horrormarks, too. The biggest drawback is that it's cursed, though, I think. I only equipped it when I wished for something that would overwrite the handslot directly thereafter.

You can put it on a shape-changing unit too, like a Mictlan turkey, where the second shape has no hands. I think some CBM Mictlan hero also has S and can turn into a Couatl.
