If one of my other PBW games ends before this starts I'd been into this. Although I'd suggest 72 hour turns and a ban on treaties between non team members. (to stop 3 teams ganging up on one)

Turn times can be discused too.
Perhpas a ban on any treaties above T&R?

If T&R treaty is the highest level 'between' other teams, then it seems only common sense that they wouldn't trade technology, planets, etc.
1 team so far. Team OZ, consisting of Baron Grazic and Princess Xanthea.
Grab yourself a partner & sign up, MB. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
For someone as worthy as you Primative... No, because I would like to win the game. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif
I haven't set a start date yet, so grab yourself a Partner (which won't bew hard for you) and sign up.

My two cents worth.
Anyone got change foe a twenty?
3 good starting planets
Score display:- set to allies
Racial points-2000 or 3000 makes racial tech less atractive.
Event frequency-none
Event severity-none
Allow Intelligence
Colonise everything in sight
No trading or gifting, or all allowed between team members
No treaties between teams. Make it a stand up fight between individual teams.
Turns should start out a litle faster I think, then slow as the turn work load grows.
Baron Grazic
August 1st, 2003, 02:13 AM
I like the idea of no treaties between teams (or NA max).
We will have a vote about the other conditions.
No events? I should be voting for this since in the Last game I hosted I lost an entire system when the Star blew, but I'm a sucker for disasters. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Are there any other teams who wish to join this game?

Is there a map maker out there who would be willing to throw a map together for us? Tesco, Grandpa Kim?

5 Teams now entered on PBW.
The game will start next Monday (Tuesday Oz time)
If I can't find an unbiased person to create a map, I'll create one and select 'Ancient Race' unless someone objects to this.
Better send your thoughts an options you wish the game to run under.
Last chance for any more teams...

Some suggestions:
Both team members should have the same Atmosphere and Colony type.
Trade/Gifts: On, but only between team members.
Tech cost: High (if trading is on)
Intel: Off
Map: Anything is OK with me.
Baron Grazic
August 22nd, 2003, 04:10 AM
After totalling the Votes via email and the Forum.
Intell is ON.
Events are OFF.
3000 Racial Points.
FQM Spiral Galaxy. To be made by external party or me. Teams mates will start in same system.
No Religous Races!!!
Any thoughts on these settings?
Quadrant size? (My Vote - Medium)
Tech Cost? (My Vote - Medium)
Starting Resources? (My Vote - 100,000)
Races must have same Atmosphere and Colony type? (My Vote - No)
Colonise own Colony type only? (My Vote - ?)
Does anyone want to make this Rating game for those players who are a member of the PBW Rating System?

Pairs will be a "PBW System Rating" game.
This will not effect the game in any way for people who are not PBW System Rating members.
If the winning team are both members, then they have to choose who the ultimate winner is.
Check out the following topic for details of the "PBW System Rating"

Anything goes in atmosphere and type.
So far, 5 people have selected this game to be a rating game. I would have expected a few more, but you never know...
I have now created a map for us to play in. Random generated FQM map. All I have done, is selected 1 Huge Home World for each empire, so that the team members start in the same system. The other 2 Home World will be system generated, either in the same system, or near it.
Good luck to all.
Edit - 5 people not 3 as a rating game.

I would say we are definitely falling towards underdog status at this point. In addition, we have experienced some major .emp deficiencies. To compensate, we were about to reach into our bag of “dirty” tricks. Do you believe in “forlorn hopes”. Then you are the partner for me.
Actually, things are so bad that I might surrender to my partner to fix the .emp problems and consolidate what we have left. This, of course, we would mean a loss for me in terms of the Ratings, but it might keep the game viable for my team.

With the departure of Geckomlis, we are looking for a replacement for his empire.
I do not know this empire in the game, so I don't know what state the empire is in, but since one team member surrendered to this empire, you would be effectively controlling this entire team.
I believe that 2 teams have met Gecko's Empire and that their has been some fighting. From information from one of his enemies, this empire is not a death's door just yet.
But to be honest, if you sign up, you could be looking at a world of hurt, but the action will be fast. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
