OK I feel like a n00b for having to ask this.

But if I wanted to turn the graphics from the game into *.gif or *.jpg files for use on an Se4 related webpage, who would I ask for permission?

Of course, the site would be for my Ilmen'telkontar and my Ilythiiri, and would display on the front page a disclaimer stating the name of the person who made the graphics in the first place.

This kind of thing seems pretty relaxed around here.

You can email the developer Aaron Hall personally at info@malfador.com for permission.

As long as you include copyright info for the graphics, it should be fine.

I wouldn't think there would be much of a problem getting permission. However, your site would need to be a site that Malfador would not mind being connected with. If your site had adult-orient banner advertising, or you "trashed" the game, or your site was riddled with foul language, I suspect they'd prefer you NOT have their graphic images (and credit to them) shown.

Nope.. no worries of that.

Small revision to what I was thinking originaly, but my site will be devided into 3 or 4 parts.
1 part for each of the two races I play on Legacies. One is Elves, one is Dark Elves... though I got fancy with names. MIND YOU.. the Dark Elves conquer, enslave, and are general all around evil d00ds.
One POSSIBLE part will be the same as above, but for the race my girlfriend plays when I can get her to play the game with me. She wants to join legacies, just, has lost enthusiasm for the game itself.
The 4th part (or 3rd if no section for gf), would be something very simple for the Legacies Users. It probably wouldnt officialy be santcioned by the Legacies Admin, but would be a private venture to help the players.

There is no porn adds, hell, no adds PERIOD, on my site.

ok now that I have recieved permission to use the graphics, I ask the community.....

Has someone already turned all of (or a major portion thereof) the Planets, Components, and/or Facilities into jpg's?

I only use IrfanView (thanks Fyron for the link), and converting ALL those files is going to take me HOURS.

If someone has them to download, or if someone can convert all of them automaticly, that would be a great hand.

And yes, the Planets.bmp, Facilities.bmp, and Components.bmp I will need each tiny little object in its own tiny little jpg.... though I dont expect anyone to do that, thats tedious work I wouldnt ask anyone to do.

But the large images, can anyone either help me out or point me to where they are already done?

Such programs do exist; I used to have one, pretty good, could convert pretty much anything but .gif's... but I don't remember what it was called. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif So look around a bit on Google for something like "freeware batch image converter"; there should be something out there...

Have you tried the batch conVersion in IrfanView? It can convert all the files with a few simple clicks.

Fyron, I cant find the batch conVersion option.

Next time I see you on IRC, I'll ask you.
Or you can send me an AIM message.

Yes, I got all the full sized images done.
Well all from the basic Se4, unmodded.

Now I am wondering about ways to do the mini's.
I assume prehaps, thumbnailing it might work?
Or just stating size in the tag for the image?

Is there a difference in the two methods?
