Guess what mod this is for...

You got it! Adamant! Give yourself a star. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Seriously though, I am looking for ideas on how to make the Physical, Organic and Magic races more unique. Currently, Organic races have no shields and regenerating armor, Magic races have strong shields and slightly weaker armor, and Physical races have standard shields and armor (though I guess it is less standard now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ). Physical races use lots of minerals and rads, Organic races use lots of organics and rads, and Magic races use lots of rads, with somewhat equal use of minerals and organics (I hope, anyways http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ). Physcial races have bigger than normal ships, Organic races have smaller than normal ships that get defense and maintenance bonuses, and Magic races have standard sized ships. They use somewhat different groupings of theoretical tech reqs for their "techs". Any ideas on how to further differentiate them?

Another thought -

Give each racial type different troops and troop weapons.

Tech - mecha
Organic - bioinfantry
Magic - Behemoths (monsters)

Different ship sizes for each race http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

That is what TGM is going to.

Physical have Mecha, Organic have Infestation Spores, and Magic have Monsters. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif The races will certainly have different types of weapons, when I finally get around to doing them... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Random shots in the dark...

Organic races should get cheaper and more effective terraforming techs and facilities.

Magic races could get bonuses on various Stellar manipulation techs (wormhole spells, etc).

The tech races should have more and livlier weapons options (missiles, guns, etc).

They should have different race pics. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Seriously though, Instead of giving them bonuses, why not give them faults?

Focusing on ships:

Organic race ships shouldn't use anything mechanical, unless they're grafted or something. (Ie: You wouldn't like to live with a painful, scorching, and heavy PPB for an arm.)

Magic races should eat up a lot of supplies. (Ie: it takes a lot out of you when you cast a vanishing spell on a starbase.)

Physics races shouldn't have bonuses.
