View Full Version : Pb with TDM 3.30 orks AI

I've installed TDM 3.30 and started a game (in fact two games, in the first, I've been crushed rapidely http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif ).

And I've got a bunch of error Messages, caused by the orks AI, mainly exotic strategies not recognized (drone planet atteck, fighter intercept, long weapons range...).

Is it a pb caused by the race or have I made a bad instal of the pack ?

AI files are OK, you just need to remake .emp file or let SE pick up Orks as a random choice.

In my game, Orks are controlled by the AI... so the emp file should not be used ?

No. You need to make a new emp file if you want to include Orks explicitly. You can continue your game though and ignore the warning Messages - SE will assign some default strategies (opt. weap. range I think) to all ork designs.

In fact I've corrected the orks AI files with existing strategies. I was just wondering why the TDM modpack was including a race which uses strategies that don't exist in the mod... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/confused.gif

Orks have full and correct AI_strategies.txt and AI_design.txt file.
It is simply .emp file that is outdated - Emp file stores strategies, if you change AI files, you must remake emp file as well.

This is strange. I'll have a loser look at that...
It really seemed that strategies used by this race don't exist in the data files of the mod.

Hmm, may be I have a different Version on my computer. I can mail you missing files if you like.

My Version is the current Version (3.30 ?) available on the TDM site.

Maybe I'm totally wrong after all. After having a closer look at the files, it seems that this race uses its own strategies... (surprising to see such creativity... for orks !)
