FACT OR FICTION??? But close enough to fact to make me wary.
This is to all of you that signed up for the "do not call" law. This week received a card in the mail that looked all right-- It said "vote for your favorite cola - Pepsi or Coke- and receive a complementary 12 pack". It didn't look suspicious--but for some reason I kept looking at it. THEN I FOUND IT !! At the bottom of the card there is a VERY small statement. It is SO small it is hard to read--but here is what it says -
"By completing this form, you agree that sponsors and cosponsors of this offer may telephone you, even if your number is found on a do not call registry or list "
This REALLY upset me and I just wanted all my friends to be aware of this way to get around the "do not call" law !! Just think how many people will send this in and their do not call registry will be NO GOOD!! The company's name is MARKET SOLUTION.
Please send this to all your friends that signed up for "do not call". I think this is just one of what we will get in the future--so READ EVERYTHING before you SIGN AND SEND.

Just goes to prove the old adage - there is no such thing as a free 12-pack. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif

That seems like very shady action on the part of Coca Cola and Pepsi. Perhaps stop supporting those companies? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

OoooooH! You can drink IBC root beer, cherry limeade, and cream soda.
Or Stewarts. They have the best cream soda EVER.

The promise of "Coke or Pepsi" 12 pack is the bait.
These two companies may not be involved.

Actually if it's true at all it's not likely that Coke or Pepsi have anything to do with it. I have never heard of those companies doing any sort of cross-promotion like that before anyway. It's damn rare to find even a soda machine with both types in it. You never see resturants that offer both kinds.
At best it's just this scum bag spam company footing the bill for the 12-packs. At worst you won't even get the 12-pack as promised but they will be happy to keep your authorization on file thank you very much.

In which case, Coke or Pepsi (or both) might be interested in taking some sort of legal action against these turkeys...

I have seen the start of another way around the list. One of the exclusions is for charity calls. I received a call from the local paper asking me to sign up, and saying that they are having a promotion to donate a portion of the proceeds to charity for each person that signs up. I suspect that there will be many such charitible promotions going on once the "Do Not Call" list goes into effect.

Wardad, be just as sneaky as them. Take a pair of scissors and cut off the small print, then send it in! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
I'd be curious to see what happens.

Grandpa Kim,
I only recieved the email warning.
I am not sure if it is new hoax.
But, I will be cautious about free offers and contests.

This is just like slamming peoples phone service. Where if you answer the phone you accept their service. BS.
