View Full Version : How to install devnull mod?

Yes, this is stupid one but I made a search and could not find out.

I have SEIV Gold and I unzipped DevNullMod170.zip into my drive. There were two directories. I added those two sounds into SEIV sounds directory, but What am I to do with DevnullModGold directory? I want to be able to play normal games with SEIV also, so I don't want to replace all those directories into ones Devnyll mod offers. How can I start new game with devnull?

Just place the DevnullGold directory into the SE4 directory (DevnullGold should be a subfolder of the SE4 folder), so it looks like this:

Space Empires IV\DevnullGold\

Then, use the Mod Launcher (found on Gold CD) to load it up.

or just change the path.txt to reflect the path, off the se4 directory, to the devnull directory.

The Mod Launcher is the way to go. No need to deal with the path file, ever.

It has nothing to do with laziness, but with ease of use and convenience... (especially when you have a lot of PBW turns to play using different mods).

ok, then it would be ok. but i can't see using it for one mod.

Yes, me too. I'm a mod chicken (bock bock). The mod launcher is great. Whoever made that little utility deserves....uh something... how about a beer, or alot of beer!
