it's got a forum, hangman, black nova traders kinda like trade wars but it gets boring, see the forums for my explanation. and images and stories and basically, whatever Fyron can shoe-horn in.

Well, it's not like I HAD one laying around. I just wanted to make sure a ship interior was OK for the contest before I spent hours on it.

So, here is the teaser (looks better in full size, I think).

Commander U'Tanna stood casually between the foredeck command positions carefully inspecting the target on the sensor screen. The crew of the fleet's command ship was still in pre-attack rest. But only for a short while longer. Confidence, coupled with a slight bit of caution, graced her features. She was the pirate hunter! She had seen far worse planets hiding scurilous bandits of the trading lanes than this coarse world. Yes, it looked like a barren piece of magma but they were there. And she would find them!

Well, I uploaded it but not sure it went to the right place. Instead of the categories listed as the contest specified, there was, "Other" and 4 other listings. I guess I'm just stupid.

So far we have one ship splash image, one exobiology and one fleet battle. It';s kind of lonely in there.

So come on people, flop out your DOGAs and show us what you can do! If you can't drive a 3D package, get yourself a freeware pixel program or even draw something on paper and scan it in. I'm sure each of the existing entrants would like to see a little competition in their respective categories.

BTW I'm hoping to have an entry for the civilisations Category in the next day or two, it's looking sooooo cool so far...

Reminds me of an article I read in "Model Railroader" once. A guy had a surefire way to win various categories of railroad model contests. He's show up, see which Category had the least amount of entries, and run out to his van to get entries for the "lonely" categories. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

The MySQL on the server went bad, so they updated it. They did not install every single script again, as they wanted to get it up and running. Right! I'm not an artist. I just wish I was. One of the main reasons I entered was to help support a site that someone was spending time on. Spending time to help someone else make a site for us "space gamers" to enjoy. Some really kewl pics.

There are lots of people out there who make shipsets. Perhaps they didn't have time to make something and enter. And, I think, there are lots of people out there who have some artistic talent. I've seen it in shipset designs.

Well, I've said my piece. Yes, I've had a few beers. It allows me to "let go". Or spew forth crap. I apologize up front. I know people have other things they need to do, IRL.
