Ok People, they say you can learn a lot about a person by the games he plays (buys). So, I'd like to hear what games you have on your shelves at home. (Do not list any Pirate Copies you have/play)

Here's my list. (in stacked order on my shelves.)

Conquest of the new world Deluxe Edition, Dungeon Master 2, Deadlock 2, Seven Kingdoms 2, Knights & Merchants, Corsairs, Red Alert 1-2, Dune 2, Command & Conquer, Tiberian Sun, Might & Magic 6-7-9, Lands of Lore, Links LS 98, Betrayal at Krondor, Heroes 3 Complete, Diablo, Diablo 2, D2:Lord of Destruction, Alpha Centauri, Imperialism, Hoyle Classic Games, Hoyle Solitaire, Heroes of Might and Magic 1-2-3-4 + Chronicles (warrior of the wasteland), Blood & Magic, Virtual Pool 3, Civ 2:Test of time, Outpost 2, Deciples: Sacred Lands, Betrayal in Antara, Warcraft 2, Starcraft, Rage of Mages, Lords of the Realms 2, Lords of Magic, Warloards 3, Jedi Outcast, Darkstone, Baldure's Gate, Arcanum, Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Emperor: Battle for Dune, Sin, Spec Ops 2, Hunter Hunted, Loadrunner:The legend returns, Kingpin, Soldier of Fortune, Conquest Earth, Rollcage 2, Ultra Pinball, Space Empires 4: Gold, Dungeon Odyssey, and Starfury (beta).

I'm probably missing a few burried under stuff, but this is a fairly complete list.

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Edit: I just found (in my closet) three more original games.. Ultima IV (boxed with cloth map for the Atari 800), Dungeon Master and Sundog: The Frozen Legacy (for the Atari ST) I don't have the hardware to play these games any more, but I couldn't bring myself to throw them away.

(fyi, My best friend has been married for 22 years and he has more games than I.)

afaik, being married has much less of an effect on a gamer's gameply than say.. 'Children' which basically destroys any kind of budget for gaming.
My friend does not have children.

Now, how about answering the original question. What games do you own/play?

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Edit: P.S. if you check the games I listed they span a good 15 years. I buy on average less than 5 games a year.

Well, David http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif , I have SE4 SE4/Gold. That's all that's loaded on the PC.

In the file cabinet one can find:

Temujin
Riven
Alone in the Dark "The New Nightmare"
Myst
Beyond Atlantis
CyberStorm (the original that can't be played on XP)
Roller Coaster Tycoon
MOO/MOO 2

Donated to Goodwill were several space games I purchased when I wore out MOO/2 (ugh!).

To sum up, the only game I have played in the Last 3 years (I think) has been SE4 (and a PBM game called CTF 2184).

Wifey has:

MechWarrior 3
MechWarrior 4 Vengence
MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries (and all expansion packs)
Black Knight
Pirates Moon

But, to one of your comments: Being married with children (pardon use of a TV series) doesn't really cut down on purchasing and playing games. It's more like I can only play so much before I want to do something else anyway. I like spending time with my wife and the kids have earned their extra-curricular activities we spend time on (Soccer and Girl Scouts).

Actually, I was just joking around when I made my earlier post... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif .

Tsk Tsk Tsk. You all have far to much free time...

For me it's:
1) SE4
2) Starcraft (friend got it for me, I like it OK, but runnning the Protoss is a little bit of a pain)
3) Aliens vs Preditor 2 - Ed Kolis said it was cool, he's right

That's it. That's all. See. Simple.

Oh. And MAME with 305 rom sets. Shsh. Nothing to see here, move along.

In no particular order:

- Freespace
- Freespace 2
- I-War 2
- Thief 1
- Thief 2
- Deus Ex
- Heretic 2
- Conquest of the New World (standard Version)
- Constructor
- Capitalism 1 and 2 (don't ask)
- Outpost (the most boring game I have ever played)
- Outpost 2 (definitively better, and a quite good novel with the game. The game in itself isn't the best of the world though)
- Imperium Galactica 2
- Age of Empires 1
- Age of Empires 2 (I cannot say I did like those)
- Total Annihilation (one of the few RTS I actually enjoyed)
- Heroes of Might and Magic III
- Some platforms games (Pandemonium, Rayman, and a few for my old Amiga)
- Planescape Torment (one of my favourite games on this list)
- Baldur's Gate 2
- Day of the Tentacle
- Under a Killing Moon (I wish I had the other games in the series, or I could make this one work )
- Fallout 2
- Riddle of Master Lu
- Zork: Grand Inquisitor
- Twinsen's Odyssey 2 (Little Big Adventure in other countries)
- The Nomad Soul (aka Omikron)
- Some racing games here and there.
- Not to mention older Amiga games

As you can see, I don't have that much games and they are usually a few years old. I tend to prefer free games now (Angband comes immediately to my mind) or Online RPG, and SEIV destroyed any need for other games. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

There isn't enough space to list all the games I have. I've been an avid wargamer since 7th grade and have way over 600+ games both board and computer. (includes those for Atari & Commodore)
I also used to collect Chess sets and have 11 of those as well.

But I will list some of the games I have for the computer and leave out board games for now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Duke Nukem 1 & 2
Master of Orion 1,2,3
Empire
Empire Delux
Shogun
Shogun Mongol Invasion
Medieval total war
Medieval Viking Invasion
Diablo 1,2
Europa Universalis 1,2
All kinds of Civil War games, Antietam, Bull Run etc
Pac War
Hearts of Iron
Quake, all of them & expansioins
Starcraft plus all expansions
Civ 1,2,3 plus expansions
Heros Might & Magic IV
plus numerous others

just some ideas Mac

Yes, the universe is impressive, if you do like a bit weird universes that is. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif My only complaint about this game is its poor translation, as usual since Interplay was responsible. Yes, I used to play this game Erax. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif At any rate thanks for the link, if anyone is interested here.

A great free RPG if you can stand text-based games, and with a convenient interface. (I have to admit I still have a lot of problems with the interfaces of, say, Nethack or Angband.) And the tutorial is impressive, so even if you are completely new, you may want to give it a try. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Hmm... I should resume playing this game, really. Out of idle curiosity, of what class is your character Erax?

Not that I have time to play most of these games (I do have a 2 year old), but here's a short list that I can come up from memory, since I"m at work and I have quite a few games in storage:

What Game do I own? Very good question, but I'm don't really know.
I have 2 selves full of game boxes, but I actually can't remember what most of them are, most just don't keep my attention to long.
I have only bought both SE IV Versions (other then kids games & some Castle building game that my wife gave me) in the longest time.

Only ones I actually have installed are:-
Space Empire IV & IV Gold.
MechCommander Gold - My 3.5 year old son loves this. He can't read yet, but knows every mission and objective from the mission map. I expect that he will be better then me a another year http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif
Red Alert - Firestorm - My son has just found this game, I didn't even realise I still had it installed
Fate, Gates of Dawn (Amiga game) - Love this one, and just revived it using an emulator.
Commandos
Ultima 1-8 boxed set.
Jagged Alliance

Alneyan, you said you liked Online RPGs ? Try this one (text-based) :

Achaea (http://www.achaea.com)

It's entirely free if (like me) you're short on cash, but if you want to you can pay to give your character a boost. It's also the main reason why I haven't been updating my War for the Stars story. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

I might as well ask this question on this thread. What is the difference between the 'regular' and the Warlord editions of Shogun : Total War ? Are there any other Versions of this game ? Which one do you recommend ? Do you recommend this game at all ?

Any advice is welcome.

Any advice is welcome. <font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">In the Warlords edition you get to fight against the Mongol invasion. I think Medieval Total War: Viking Invasion is better personally. But if you haven't try the game yet go with the Warlords edition.

The Warlord edition is also quite a patch on the original game. They fixed some things, added some very nice features. Definately get that Version.

While Medieval is nice, the overhead (moving units around every dang turn) could use a lot of automation. Eventually it drags the whole game down, for me anyway.

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely get Shogun instead of Medieval because of the setting (I might get Medieval later if I really enjoy the gameplay).

Dominions (I and II) are really excellent. I much prefer them to MoM, although MoM has some interesting different bits. I had a lot of fun with MoM but I didn't find the AI very challenging and even after the Last Microprose patches, I was getting lots of bizarre bugs, though the bizarreness added to the "magic" of the experience http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif .
