Hmm, in the overhead view, it looks like the two weapon mounts are parallel, but they look pointed in different directions in the front. Otherwise, nicely done. Looks like a very mean ship.

I am happy that you all like it. I don't know what class it is now, nor do I know when I will have a "set" done. Time is very tight for me so things like this are not a top priority.

Have any of you ever sat down and figured out how much time you have spent on this game? I tried this the other day and was blown away by it. Just using an average of a half hour a day for 365 days a year for 3 years. It adds up. Nearly 23 days of my life have been dedicated to this game.

I see. It just tends to distort the continuity of the ship to have a simplistic box with a whole in it on the front. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif They are good ships otherwise.

Worldships are typically supposed to be more or less round, as they are mostly used for things like Death Stars, Battlemoons, and other giant spherical planet-like ships.

Maybe the hole in the front is for scooping up dropped components and cargo in Starfury... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I don't have any imagination problems with square recesses in front, or with non-round world ships.

Er, and actually, that world ship picture below looks relatively rounded to me already.

Nice looking ships there, but I got some comments on the world ship http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I like the fact its not beeing round (or spherical http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ), but looking like its been carved out of an astroide.
But it looks: Tiny http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif

The bridge on top makes it look the size of a Caribian Cruiseship. Big enough for a week of holiday, but hardly something to be the scourge of the galaxy http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

It looks like a 4 story building on top of the asteroid... if it were 4 stories on a world ship, it would be a mere dot with that sized image. Think small moon. Maybe it could look like a small city on top of that thing?

I like the left one better...

The front "gear" piece looks like the asteroid is phasing through it or something, as they overlap on both the left side of and the top of that one "spoke". Or the top and right, depending on the perspective you look at it from. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I still think you should add many tiny grey structures on the top (or maybe a few http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ) to make it look more massive. Kind of like how the death star looks almost like a city when you get close to the surface. Or keep it like that. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Check out www.openoffice.org (http://www.openoffice.org) . It is a good free, open source alternative to MS Office (and all those other office suites that are still in business). It has a Version of Word, Excel, Power Point, and Word Art (or whatever that MS Office crap graphics program is). It can save files into and from all standard (and many non-standard) file formats, including Mac, MS, and others. Oh, and it is a heck of a lot smaller than MS Office to boot, with all the same functionality. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif And unlike some office suites, it won't make you sell your firstborn to use it...

CNC, after creating your zip files, please delete the file Thumbs.db. It adds 200 KB to the files for no reason! It is the file used by XP to store the thumbnails for thumbnail viewing. It will be overwritten on anyones computer that wants to view them in thumbnail view anyways. So, it is a waste of bandwidth to include that file. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
