Okay I have seen two Battlefleet Gothic Shipsets, The ORKS and the Legions of chaos. I was wondering if anyone has seen any Imperial Fleet Ship sets floating about because I absolutely love the BFG Imperial Navy and would love to command them into battle when I finally get Space Empires.

The Race Directory seems to be down. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif So instead, check out www.tescosamoa.com (http://www.tescosamoa.com) or www.spaceempires.net (http://www.spaceempires.net) under the downloads section. tescosamo.com gives you a preview picture for all sets, se.net does not at this point in time.

Check Troopers page:

State of the Art Shipyards (http://sotas.clan.st/)

Hmm... it was innaccessible when I checked it from the comp lab when I wrote that post. Good to see that it is back up. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif But, tescosamoa.com and spaceempires.net host all (or most all...) of the ship sets directly, so downloading them from there is easier (once you know what you want).

Darn....well there are no current Imperial Ship sets. Is anyone planning on making one "please say yes :-)".

Can you provide any info or links to sites that have pictures of the ships? I know that if you bug a few of the ship set guys one of them might become interested.

Well yeah go to http://www.pictorsstudio.com/battlefleet.htm

Or the games workshop site http://us.games-workshop.com/40kuniverse/bfg/default.htm

Go to either one and there yah go loads of pics of the Imperial fleet.

Whom should I bug the most :-)??

I have over a 150+, but I think someone posted recently that there were about 250 sets. I find myself forgetting which sets I have and which one I don't, so I'm hesitant to d/l any of the sets on those websites.

Search for a program called TreePrint, which you can use to make a text file listing of all the subfolders (and/or files) in a target folder. Then, you can get a list of what you have. Then, just compare it to the Race DIR, which has nearly every set listed. If you find some that are not there, just email Trooper about it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

You can also do the same thing from the command prompt.

Open the cmd prompt and CD to the races directory and type:

dir /B /AD > filename.txt
This will create a text file called filename.txt with a list of all the directories within whichever directory you are in at the moment.

Well if any of you either spot or make an Imperial Shipset will you please tell me as they are my favorite race.

Okay I have looked up every single Web Site I could find about SEIV shipsets and there was jack squat on the Imperial Fleet. I found Chaos Orcs and even Slaaneshi chapter Chaos but no Imperial :-(.

So any of you guys have strings you can pull to get someone to create a nice little or rather large Imperial fleet. Because they are great looking ships and here is a great link:

http://www.gamesworkshop.com/40kuniverse/bfg/hobby/galleries/imperial/default.htm

Just click the shadowed silloeutes and you'll get a lovely shot and some history behind the Imperial Ships.

Oh and here is a big question for you all....anyone who can answer at least.

Okay so a few questions about making a shipset for SEIV:

1. Is it hard?
2. Can it be done by one person?
3. What programs do you use.
4. Will you make this shipset for me if I ask real nice ;-).
5. Are there any tutorials that make ship set making simple (I.E. Shipsets for dummies)?

Fyron

1. Nope. Just have to be used to making 3d computer graphics.
2. I believe that 95+% of all shipsets have been made by single persons rather than teams.
3. Doga or Moray + Povray are the most commonly used programs. Doga tends to make rather similar looking sets though...
4. Nope. I am no graphics person. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
5. Check the Important Info thread stickied at the top of the SE4 forum.

On 1, you don't -have- to use a 3d graphics program, that just the most common method.

Sadly I don't know how to use a 3d program or anything else of that type :-( in any way that could allow me to texture models and stuff. I only have made a few models of my own and those don't have texture or anything.

Do any of you guys know anyone who you can get to take a look at the Imperial Ships and see if they can make a shipset from it? I mean I've now found ORKs, Chaos, Slaaneshi Chaos, and Necrons. But still no empire :-(

Are you talking about Star Wars Imperial ships? If so, you can check out the Kuat Yard website. It's a Star Wars themes site, and any and everything Star Wars that has been created for Space Empires is on there.

Sounds like Warhammer 40,000 not Star Wars

Be that as it may, I was just over on the SE#4.net site and saw an Imperial shipset that was available for download. Maybe that's what he's looking for.

I have the Star Wars Imperial

I am looking for a Warhammer 40k Imperium of Mankind Naval Shipset.

http://www.gamesworkshop.com/40kuniverse/bfg/hobby/galleries/imperial/default.htm

These are the ships in the Imperial Fleet and I truely hope someone can make them for me :-)

P.S. Click the sillouete and you can see the true details of the warships.

I guess by the lack of response that my dreams of an Imperium of man shipset to go along with the Ork and Chaos ones is dead http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

If you can find decent pictures of them, you can crop them to make your own semi-decent set in the mean-time. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I'm afraid I do not know how to do that :-( I wish I could. Are there any free tutorials or software I can download?

Just use MSpaint.

In case the images you download aren't in BMP format, a good viewer/conVersion utility is IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/).

So what kind of a picture do I need I mean will the pictures listed on the web site I gave you work?

And how do I get that cool topdown veiw? Or does the game it's self automatically do a top down view of the portrait?

Oh and this might sound dumb but how do I actually get them in game? Because right now I only have the demo and am figuring I'll get the full Version on Christmas so I wont be able to test it for awhile :-(.

Basically, take a look at an existing shipset that came from the game - you have to make a directory under Pictures\Races with the name of your race, and then under that you put all the pictures, preceded with the race name, just like with the stock shipsets - so if you wanted to create a shipset called "Zorg" then you'd need to create Zorg_Main.bmp, Zorg_Portrait_Starbase.bmp, Zorg_Mini_FighterSmall.bmp, and all the rest, all in a Zorg directory.

And sorry, the game won't generate the topdown views for you - you have to make them or find them yourself http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

BTW, IIRC you CAN add your own ships to the demo, you just have to replace the existing ships with your ships (keeping the same race name) instead of creating a new directory for them. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

As for how to make the shipsets: Check out the Basic ship set tutorial (http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/ubbuploads/Atrocities/SSTutorial.zip) by Atrocities. Good luck on your project.

I have plenty of portrait type shots but the pain in the butt is I can't seem to find any top down shots of any Imperial ships...
