OT: Explorer.exe c0000005 access violation

has anybody here encountered those in windows 2000 professional when you tried to open the Control Panel?

If you've solved it, please tell me how. It's driving me mad. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Edit: The Control panel crashes after loading the icon for Internet Options.

Further Edits: I've already reinstalled the 4th support pack to no avail. I've also run ad-aware and cleaned all spyware. It hasn't done anything.

Take a look at your log there. People have replied to it with potential fixes.
