Lately i see a lot of articles regarding new technological developments... being interested in the subject myself, do you actually check them daily or are there newsletters an interested person might sign up?

Usually I get links to this stuff from friends and family.
So for me they travel memetically, organically. But I know some people check the sites regularly.

I have a few favorite sites that I check regularly. But mostly I get my stuff through research.
All my friends acknowledge my mastery in using the internet to find what needs to be found when it needs to be found in a relevant matter. I think it comes from 6+ years of University research for various papers and an aVersion to getting information from books that could be found more upto date Online (don't get me wrong... I love books and use em all the time. But info on the net if you can filter out the garbage can be so much more reliable and upto date). Darn... I have so many wasted credit hours and papers written it isn't even funny. *mutters something about switching degree plans 2 years in to something totally unrelated*

Reading hard science on the toilet? What's wrong with you! Are you mad? The toilet is strictly reserved for works of fiction! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

It's all around us as we 'surf' the net.
Beyond that, many people here could be science students, academics, or research scientists with direct professional interest in the stories. The Internet itself was originally created to connect military and university research systems and they're still here -- not every wargamer is an ordinary computer tech worker or run-of-the-mill service worker in 'non-tech' industries. Scientists play wargames too! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Then there is the fact that even mainstream news services like CNN or Foxnews will often carry what would have been considered 'obscure' science stories these days if they judge that the 'Gee Whiz' factor is enough to get ordinary people interested. And yes, there are plenty of sites out there, 'amateur' and otherwise, that follow lots of science developments if you want more than the mainstream news provides. They are easy to find. Google is your friend. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Anything that I need to know, ends up on the Shrapnel Boards. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
