Anyone know how to disable the CD Autorun feature in Windows XP? It's so annoying when I try to put my SE4 CD in and I have to wait for the game installer... I used to be able to do this but I can't seem to find the option in XP. (I tried disabling AutoPlay for all CD types in the CD drive's properties window, but that doesn't seem to disable Autorun...)

Ed, there are several options to disable Autorun/AutoPlay with Tweak UI, available from the Microsoft Power Toys Page. (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp)

I don't know if they'll work for you since I haven't tried them, but I'm looking through Tweak UI right now and there's a section on AutoPlay under the My Computer -> AutoPlay section.

Hope this helps (and works).

I'm not sure if this works on XP, but holding down the shift key when inserting the CD should stop it from autorunning.

XP is very unusual in that some CD's will auto run, while others will not. SEIV does not auto run for me. I guess I am lucky.
