I'll go with the latter. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif But really... I don't watch movies for the actors, but for the movie itself (same with TV et all as well). The few on that list I recognize have been in mostly crap movies/etc. (IMO), so I don't watch them...

Everyone has different fantasies... <font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Well, though I fantasize about female movie stars, I would have to admit I watch the movies for, well, the movie itself. There are a few movies with "my girls" that I will rent no matter what...but for the most part, I rent movies for the probability it is a great movie. The same goes for males...I will rent ANY movie with Tom Hanks, "Jack" (you KNOW who I mean) Morgan Freeman, Sean Connery, Johnny Dep, Sean Penn, Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, and others that don't come to mind immediately. But I'll rent movies from my "top 5" even if the movie isn't promising. I mean, I like the actors/actresses so much that I just want to see how they did (though the movie may suck). Maybe that's a sad idea to display here but that's just me.
But, I DO watch movies for the "wealth" of the movie most of the time. LOTS of foreign films that are subtitled. Sundance awards, Cann FF awards...etc. And, I don't neglect "chick flicks". Generally speaking, "chick flicks" by women directors and women writers are great movies! Why? 'Cause they had to get past the "good ole boy" network to get produced.
But, in all the movies I (and my wife) watch, I take note of the eye candy (like Mandy Moore, for example, in "A Walk To Remember"). Which was a nice movie.

But besides the many movies I have seen with her, "Girl Interruped" notwithstanding (her Acadamy award), she spends a lot of time in impoverished countries. Spin? Maybe. But I don't think so.
Let's take Goldie Hawn...you're the (near) same age as me. Remember her on "Laugh-in"? Bimbo? Most ANYTHING I read has her as one of the shrewdest people in Hollywood. I didn't list her because I was trying to put a list of 20 togehter that I thought were VERY nice looking (read: sexy) and that the "youth" among us would know. I'd give a testicle to spend a day with Goldie...if she would just be herself.
We'll never really know who among them is intelligent or "dopey". When it comes down to it, most everything they do is "spin".

Here's my list. I have not included anime. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif Two of them are the ones I voted for in the poll.
1. Rebecca Romijn
2. Bridget Fonda
3. Reese Witherspoon
4. Neve Campbell
5. Nicole Kidman
6. Liv Tyler
7. Fann Wong
8. Claudia Schieffer
9. Kristanna Loken
10. Natasha Henstridge

I don't really like any particular "person" as much as I like the way the artist does them.
I don't know several of the ones you mentioned. But Claudia is a dreamboat...
I started to add Reese but remembered the "lawyer" movies she made and left her behind but she does have great looks!
Bridget is nice, too but she hasn't floated to the top of my fantasies lately.
And before I upset my wife, she isn't too far behind these girls (considering their age and hers). She's a bit heavier (and older) these days but (WOW) to be able to lay next to her in bed every night is what just about everyone my age would consider a dream come true.

My favorite girls from anime:
1. Nene Romanova [Bubblegum Crisis (original, not 2040)]
2. Rei Hino [Sailor Mars, from Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon]
3. Rei Ayanami [Neon Genesis Evangelion]
4. Shampoo [Ranma 1/2]
5. Videl [Dragonball Z]
The first three I have spent more time thinking about than all of the 10 in the previous list put together.

Wow, I thought I was mostly ignorant about pop culture (there were several shocked faces when the semester finally ended, and I told a bunch of people watching "The OC" and "The Simple Life" that I've never heard of the shows... apparently, they're rather popular...). Most people I know with a small ammount of fame and influence tend to let it get to them. Even if they're all basically all good people, they're just a bit 'off.' Everything I know about the kind of people you listed with large ammounts of fame, suggests they are alot worse off.
And Im willing to bet that even though they can be nice to look at with all their makeup on, you all probably know alot of girls that look better with the makeup off. Not to mention, the girl next door would probably be alot more fun for a romp under the sheets.
Besides, I have alot better odds asking the girl at the laundromat out for a drink, than I would pineing after a supermodel. Hell, you would probably have better luck - and a better time - with the CARTOON, than you would have with a supermodel.

I see there is a 3-way tie at the moment (with Angelina in a close 4th).
For all the names that people listed (that I didn't put on here), I must say it's kind of a shortcoming of the poll system. There is no way to add something after the poll has started and no way for "add-in" voting to get counted. So, I chose the names that I thought were great looking and that might appeal to what I expect the average age is in here (I'm guessing 30 or so).
So, I left out a lot of names of older (or lesser-known) females. But it is refreshing to see them pop up in comments...brings back memories.
AND, as is usually the case, I forgot a few (whose names I'd have to search for): T'pol from Enterprise and Inara from Firefly.

It's more fun showing your age. I am (only) 34 and still think Brigitte Bardot in her sex kitten days takes a lot of beating (ooh, and on that thought I need a lie down, a cold shower and 30 laps of the playing field) and ask for Jane Fonda in Barberella (snurfff!!! yip yip hoo hoo)
My top five are as follows:
Ines Sastre (Spanish Supermodel)
Claudia Schiffer (German Supermodel)
Kylie Minogue (Antipodean Chantreuse and just a personal thing)
Giselle Bundchen (Brazilian Supermodel)
Marilyn Monroe (Some Like it Hot)

From Foxnews 411: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,107457,00.html
Britney's Woes: Sale-ing Into Oblivion
Poor Britney Spears. I say she should have stayed married to the guy from her hometown, started a family and become a country-singing superstar.
But no, that would have been the smart thing to do. Instead, Spears is going to treat us to a downward spiral of alcoholic ranting.
Is she upset over the sales of her latest album? She should be. "In the Zone" is on the charts, but not like its predecessor. The CD has sold 1.6 million copies, roughly a third of her previous release in 2001. That's not good news when you've got an entourage and a family to support.
Spears has no formal education, no clue about adult life and a lot of bodyguards. And oh yes, the money. My guess is that over the holidays she was just ... lonely. And bored. Too young to have perspective and too old to watch "Sesame Street," she's stuck in a dangerous rut. Again, my advice, Brit: Marry the guy for real and learn to make a casserole.

Let's see, I could recognize eight of them.
Kate Hudson was just explained to me in the Last day or two thanks to the news/entertainment industry, and I still don't know or care what she looks like. (i.e. Goldie Hawn's daughter just had a child - gee.)
One other name I recognize but wouldn't know what face goes with it.
The other ten I have no idea who they are.
None of them seem particularly interesting, nor possible competition for other (perhaps older, but not for that reason) stars. Not that I was ever particularly interested in stars (or even, the fake images they're packaged as). Certainly my "top five" (if I had such) wouldn't consist of celebrities. I suppost the point is to try to work with a list with which other people would be familiar.

Well, we surely know this forum is frought with those who refuse to have any fantasies about celebraties (or any other kind of female absolutely unobtainable). But, there are some of us who are helplessly afflicted with the ocassional thought. For them, I posted what I thought to be a popular list. It is comprised of females I am particularly fond of as well as representations from various sites where my Google search took me (which means the names I listed have a somewhat "official" taste to them).
The idea of a "top-5" list (or "top-10" list) isn't an alien idea, either. Nor is it confined to just guys thinking about girls. It is mentioned by the male/female afternoon DJs on a radio station we listen to (repeatedly) and the term has popped up in various movies (usually comedies).

Ok, ok, I know someone I left off
Sara Downing from Touched by an Angel.
I have always wanted a date with her. I really want to know what kind of a kind person she is in the Real World

One I would like to go on a date with is Ashley Scott. She played Helana Kyle on the WBs Birds of Prey. She also played a small part in the movie Swat. She is not a big time actress yet and that is one reason I like her. Nice full lips, very attractive. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

And thanks for the kind remark. You should check out Swat if for nothing else then the small scene she plays in it. Wowsers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif

Yes, nice. It's amazing, sometimes, how short hair can work so well on someone. Of course, as I've also been known to say, SOME women can look good in any hair style or color.

Well, there is a limit. I have never felt attracted to a girl who shaves her head.

As for bald birds, I always thought Persis Khambatta in the first Startrek movie could do me a knee trembler any time. Kind of kinky and erotic at the same time, like using the chicken AS WELL AS the feather
Ashley Scott, nice cleavage, great eyes - see what you mean about the lips
