When I want to move say 100 ships it is very slow to click them one by one holding shift.
Is there a faster way to do this?
Say if I have 100 ships all at the same location how do I select them all fast?

Well, you could fleet them. You would still have to click each one to add to the fleet, but afterwards, it will be one thing to click, rather than 100.

You can add them to a fleet. Then they all work together.
Select one ship, and then click the 'Fleet Transfer' button, it has 4 ships and a +, (Or 'F' key), then click 'Create Fleet', and add the ships.

Hold down the shift key and click on them.

Dam, Will beat me.
There is an 'Add All' button in the fleet window, so it is quick to add them all.

Why? It works nicely as it is now. You want ships to be together, fleet them. You don't want them to be together, don't fleet them. I believe that "ctrl + a" selects all the ships in a sector when you are on the main screen. Now, what would be cool would be adding a way to fleet fleets. So instead of them being fleets, they would be squadrons (or something). Then, you would make fleets by grouping together squadrons.

You know thats a great idea - id like to send in seperate fleets to attack a target at once without needing to have then in a single massive fleet - the squadren idea is good. As would be being able to "lend for x amount of terms to an ally" specifc squadrons to attack an enemy on their other frontier or perhaps able to rent fleets from an ally - some ideas to work with that could be used to expand the game in many ways.

You can shift-select fleets to move them together now. It is just annoying. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif Warning: ships/fleets selected with the shift option and moved together ONLY move together for 1 turn. After that, they move separately.

They should move on the same day at the same speed for the first turn. At least, that was my understanding of how it works. If it does not work that way, it would be a bug and you need to email MM about it. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Well "wings" is more a term for fighters, not capital ships.

Fleets of fleets would be really handy. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
I wonder how experience would work, then? Would the squadron experience be added to each of the fleet experiences which are added to the ship experience? Maybe just use the highest experience out of the squadron / fleet experience and add it to each ship? Or maybe squadrons won't have their own experience?

What about renting some of youre fleet to youre allies to fight their enemies ? say in return for reimbursement if any ships are damanged or destroyed say the original consturction costs + 10% ?
But perhaps the ally couldnt strip it of technology ?
Some interesting ideas that the second part hasnt been discussed yet. Just throwing around some ideas.

It is shift + a, not ctrl + a. Aaron doesn't like windows-standard hotkeys. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif Check the Hotkeys section of the in-game help. Extremely useful section if you ask me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif
