Fyron

As in, repairing fighters, or repairing ships while the ability is on the fighter? If the former, then no. If the latter, then yes.

Yep! Devnull's Space Monsters have bases with that ability to hide their HW.

So THAT's what those bLasted monsters did to their homeworld!
What level of scanning tech do I need to root them out? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon6.gif

This 'special' ship will then blow the entire star up and kill'em all! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

But seriously, if I recall correctly then you cannot scan the planets with normal scanners, you have to simply fly blindly in their home system (should be easy to figure out what that is) and then hope you run into them.

ok, if you put 'Sector - Sensor Interference' on a ship, does that affect all the ships on your side or just all the ships in the sector?

Fyron

Every ship in the sector. It acts exactly the same as a storm with that ability, except that you can move it and change which sector is affected.

ah well. so much for command ships.

I think the best you could do along these lines would be a ship/device with System Wide abilities. (And then, you would be able to hide the ship away from the battle, if you are willing to take a risk. *Grumbles*)

that is still a very useful ability. For a fleet that relies on seekers, drones and/or ramships it can be great to foul up all sensors.

say, isn't there a system-wide ability that improves the attack of all your ships? i wonder if i could stick it on a ship...

Rollo

yes,
Combat Modifier - System
Value1 = Percentage combat modifier for entire system (+/- percentage).
Value2 =

Damage Modifier - System
Value1 = Percentage damage modifier for entire system (+/- percentage).
Value2 =

these are the abilities for the war shrine and death shrine.
I think these work on components also.

what is the equation for how much a tech costs?

Kamog
February 10th, 2004, 03:20 AM
From the FAQ:

Where (LC = Level Cost) and (L = Level):

Low tech cost =LC*L
Mid tech cost =LC*(Lē/2)
High tech cost = LC*(Lē)

Fyron

That forumla is not entirely accurate... it would imply that a level one tech area costs 1/2 its lised cost in a medium tech cost game! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Kamog

You're right!
So does anybody know the correct formula? Or maybe the formula only applies to level 2 and above? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/confused.gif

Fyron

I think it is correct for other levels. It is just level one that is a special case.
