Since it appears the web upload on Shrapnel is going to be down for a while, I've set up a FTP account on my webspace just for shrapnel Users. I think publiclly posting it would violate my terms of service, but email or PM me if you need space for your files. You can send the files too, I think the size limit is 1MB though. Maybe less.

some people on here would write the @ symbol as at and seperate stuff. i think it's because the spammer company's have electronic minions looking for addresses.

Yes, spam bots (spiders) troll forums continuously snagging all email addresses they find. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif

we need frogs. or cats. cats like spiders. or at least ours eats them. she was a bit hesitant at first. sniffed them a bit, nibbled, wanted to make sure it was something she really should eat.
*as a side note, no, that post wasn't in character.

Yes well with me it doesn't really matter. I created a test account at my ISP and did NOTHING else with it.
As of right now, that account is getting 10-15 pieces of spam a day. Doesn't sound too bad until you consider the only place that email address has ever appeared is on my ISP's servers, and on my screen during the registration process.

There are plenty of ISPs that give out their email lists... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon8.gif

Earthlink sold my email address.
Also I have noticed a lot of companies wanting to have your email address, like Block Buster. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM For the love of GOD do not ever give out your Email address to any business. THEY SELL the information.

I have a second e-mail address that I use wherever I expect it to draw spam.

i guess i have a good ISP that doesn't sell addresses. i'm only getting one peice of spam every once and a while, and it's from 'the national book review service'. i'm not labeling it as junk, though, because they might come up with something i want to read.
