Hi

a enemy has got another team to surrender to him, and then they send a lot of ships of that player in to me,

when I get a enemy to surrender to me, and all of his stuff turned to my colour, all I have is the ships that they had at the time of surrendering, Is there anyway to use the technology of the other team? and were the ships that attacking me just the leftovers and they wont build any more?

Thanks

When an empire surrenders, everything they have is transferred.
Racial techs cannot be transferred, but everything else goes.

If it really was a surrender, those ships attacking you were under the control of the player who accepted the surrender.

However, if an enemy ship has unknown technology, you can analyze it, which should give you knowledge about that technology, including racial-dependent ones.(At least, if my memory continues to serve.)

You can not analyze racial techs unless you possess the appropriate racial trait.

Any ships with the racial tech already on it will still work correctly. Once it is destroyed on the ship, it can not be repaired (If you don't have that tech) The ships can not be retro-fitted and keep the racial weapons.

If you use a surrendered ship and one weapon and one engine are destroyed in a fight. Only the engine is repaired. Once all or most of the racial devices are destroyed, it is best to use the hull to retrofit your own weapons to it, or scrap it alltogether.

The same works for planets captured or surrendered. Existing faculties will work, but if destroyed can not be rebuilt.
