I just lost another game of "Draw Blood" with my female tabby. You know the game, you tease the kitty with something that looks playful and in return you get a sharp claw stuck inbetween your finger nail and the skin of your finger. The kind of minor injury that just hurts like hell.

Well any ways, like I was saying, I after loosing another round of "draw Blood" I descided to fire up the old PC and play a test game of the STM.

But before I could do this I had to "dump out" my key board as it was full of cat hair and well flea poop.

Evidance that my cat has once again been sleeping on my key board.

So I do the deed and get the key board operation, fire up the mod and start to play and wouldn't you know it, thawk! A white phaw hits the monitor right were the Romulan Warbird was at. Have you ever wondered what a cat is looking at when it stares off into thin air and acts as if it is watching something? Well I have figured it out, they are staring at invisible Romulan Warbirds.

Play SEIV for a while then close your eyes. What do you see?

LOL...

I think you can put a KB in the dish washer (but not on high temp dry).

If you know cats at all, they like to "touch" or lay on things they know belong to their humans. And, if they want attention, they will lay in what they consider to be the best line of sight of you. If you spend your life on the KB, then very near there. Like my cat used to do before he died (a Siamese), he got tired of watching my fingers dance on the KB instead of him and reached out to paw at the KB as well.

PS: This forum must be where your electronic friends are...you share so many life experiences here. Kinda nice (assuming I am correct).

Tom is part Siamese, and he thinks we (the family) are all here to serve his every whims. I really get the brunt of the abuse at around 4 am every morning. He does climb onto my keyboard when he feels that I should be petting him. To relieve this problem I take him into the living room and turn on the TV and DVD player. If there is no disk in it will start to “bounce” this little logo across the screen, you know like some of the screen savers on a computer. This will usually work for about an hour or so, I even video taped it so that my wife could see him.

well, i don't think the cat is lying on the kb, but that's only becuase it isn't to comfortable.

but she does go to sleep in the second chair when i'm up late and everyone else is asleep.

Heehee...cats...

I suspect that my cat has a fascination with computers...in addition to any cuddle issues that she may have.
She seems to fancy the barbarians in Diablo II...and loves watching them leap and scurry on the screen.
Then again...my cat also enjoys climbing the bathroom walls...and chattering at flying insects...and countless other oddball activities.

Oooh...yes...start a cat picture thread so we can show off our "babies" like a bunch of lonely old ladies! Hee he hee he hee he hee! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

I have a cat that loves to stalk moving lights. She likes SE IV because the black static background gives good contrast for the mouse pointer. This cat will leap and strike the wall four feet up from the ground to try to get an elusive moving spot of light. We have a bird's nest in our eaves. The other cat sits in the window and looks up at the arriving birds. However, this cat prefers the time of day when the sun shines through the window. She then sits and faces the wall, waiting to pounce on the bird shadows. After all, they're inside the room...

My cat enjoys sleeping on the printer when I'm on the computer - even though he must be twice the size of it. He also likes to attack the paper during printing leading to the occassional paper jam. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

PvK <font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">That is sooo uncanny. And here I thought one of our cats was weird! At night, when the streetlight shines through the faceted glass in the front door, it makes a sparkly design on the opposing wall. When we hear that "swoosh, plop, swoosh, plop", we know Taffy is jumping several feet into the air and sliding down the wall trying to get the sparkles! And don't EVEN get a flashlight out...or one of those laser pointers!

We have a flashlight toy that shines through a little pLastic globe filled with water and glitter, which makes swirling sparkles all over the walls of a dark room. The cat loves it, but there are so many, she just sits and her head shakes in all directions looking at them all.

Atrocities, you may need a keyboard condom. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Never know though, the pLastic may encourage the cat to use claws...

Keyboard condoms (http://www.viziflex.com/) http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

I got one on my beloved ancient IBM 101. You know, a real keyboard, huge with keys that click, and doesn't have those annoying windows keys!

Good thing I don't have a cat that likes to jump on it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

My cat likes me to stop what I am doing, sit on the bed and pet him. If I am at the computer, and I don't get up he will start to jump up onto my lap. Unfortunatly he only gets half way. He then puts out his claws, right through my pants and into ME, and pulls himself up onto my lap.
Naturally, being the nice Cat Owned Person that I am I don't heave him accross the room, but spend the next several minuts moving the mouse with one hand and petting the cat with the other.

Once he has had enough he likes to knock things off my computer desk as he tries to make his way over to look out the window.

But I pay him back when I use the cat comb to get rid of his fur balls.

The cat, gizmo, (Alvan) that liked to sit on my computer monitor and watch me was hit and killed by a car Last fall. Broke my heart.

Boots, the male, he just likes to sleep in my computer chair... sigh, I have to fight him for the chair when I want to use the computer.....also the 2 females love to sleep on our bed at night, one on my feet and the other next to us.., rough when you try to roll over or....... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

We had one that was particularly dedicated to MP (Moth Patrol). You could always tell when she had just eaten one...moth dust around her mouth.

Flies are much harder for cats to catch though I've witnessed it several times.

But, you haven't lived till you've listened to the sound of a cat eating a cockroach (crunching and all http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif )

lol, good thread - my gf's cat is hillarious also - complete control of all the humans in the house http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

from waking us up at 4:30-5:30am for some wet food using any close-by convenient noise appliance (read: pLastic bags, papers, things to knock over, chair backs to claw into); to stealing my gf's hair bobbles (fuzzy thick eLastics) and putting them in his food dish; to general attacks of energy running around the place from a window to a door to another window - he owns his environment...

we let him out in the backyard - usually with a long long leash - (and he has a rather loud bell on his collar which always jingles) - he STILL manages to catch birds - dont ask me how

i'm convinced they colonized earth cuz they did an analysis of humans and decided they can get a free ride for eons http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

oh well, fun in a 5 pound fur package is a good thing

also why i enjoyed so much of weber's honor harrington books http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif (in addition to the good hard space opera sf)

I have not seen Tom eat any bugs, but he does have the bouts of high energy. He is especially bad about waiting around the bend in the hallway and jumping on the unsuspecting passers legs. I had to have him de-clawed as it was really starting to leave marks on my kids.
