I have been throwing the idea for a calculator space empires game around for about 3 or 4 hours now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif Does anyone here know how to program TI 83+ graphing calculators? All I know is basic and I don't think I could accomplish it using that. I already have some basic designs drawn out: Interface, Ships, Components, Facilitys, ect...

I think this would be a great way to get the word spread about the Space Empires series.

If that works for you set up youre own website and put a link into this forum and see how you go. Most people just prefer the computer Version thoguh.

You may already know this, but these are some websites with info on the TI series calculators:

I will have screen shots soon of what I have put together so far. Everything I have so far is all "concept art" and none of it is useable yet because I am still trying to grasp how to code it into an operational program.

Ok here is my first "concept art" screenshot from my calculator.

Its crude but if its a good game will looks really matter and remember this is a graphing calc.
Top left buttons in this order are: Designs(ship), Research(beaker), Planets(planet), Colonies(building), Construction(crane), Your Empire/Diplomacy(its supposed to be a crown).
The the box with the Planet Alpha 1 in it is the box that shows what is currently selected, the other 2 are obviously the system and quadrant maps.

Wow, Combat Wombat, that screenshot looks good. Now I want to get a TI-83+ calculator. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
With a calculator, we can play space empires anywhere - play it at work and it looks like we're working. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Yes narf there is a graphing calculator emulator but I am afarid the only one that I know of requires that you have a calc to upload command files from for it to operate properly.

Here are some of the emulators I just found with a simple google search. None of them seem to work with my computer but that could just be XP Pro being dumb again. Compatibility mode didn't work http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Here is the command file you will need to run the emulator please download this only if you are planning on helping me. I am not even sure if this will eventully allow you to play my game once its completed.
