A bit of recoloring done of mini images, touched up the border issues around minis, new weapon platforms. Check it out!

If anyone has a killer organic race AI that they are looking to find a shipset for, or want to make an AI, this set needs AI. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

The minis still appear to have that problem where part of them is red, and another part is sort of a desaturated or pinkish red...

I like the new weapon platforms!

Why did you redo them? Same statement as Kwok, but still nice work. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Wohaa, nice shipset!

The only thing I miss are the rest of the AI files and the .emp files.

It will use default AI files. Empire files are overrated. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Some pics (fleet, sat group, fighter goup) still have a lighter grey border. The fighter group even has copies of that border on some of the internal pics.

Try adding some lights if you're using the defauly ilumination, moving the lights around if you're not.
That should get rid of that annoying pinkish highlight and specially if they cast shadows, make everything look less flat.

Anyway it looks cool. Congrats Fyron!

And yes, I've always said that .emp files shoul only be used to setup multiplayer games. Using them to manually add an existing empire with all default settings is a bad workaround for a missing feature.

I didn't make the images... if you look in the readme, you will see that Camulus did. He is a friend of mine. In the program he uses, he says it is a pain in the butt to move the light source around... thus, the sometimes oddly colored minis... One of these days...

The borders are an artifact of his Version of Adobe Photoshop, which adds a near-black border to images when he saves them as BMP directly... I thought I had gotten rid of all of them. Guess not.

Try Malfador's ship viewing utility. The mask setting only works with absolute black, so you should be able able to catch any erroneous borders etc.

Perhaps a directly overhead light source might help in the final mini renders. Of course, rendering the minis at a larger size and then re-sizing them in a quality image program might also help. You could also try selecting the greyish areas and using a 'saturate' command to see if you can match up the colour with the remainder of the ship.
