I have not done much with this set aside from these two ships. I am working on a few more but in order to complete the set I might have to use some creative license. Again the completion of a set this difficult would require some time, and a slight interest from those who would like to have this set completed.

Zentraedi flagship and command cruiser, wow great work!!! The hardest part about Robotech ships, moreso for the Zentraedi is that there are only 5 main ships in there fleet, if you are going strictly by the first series canon. I have seen other concept drawings/ images from Macross that add ships to it.(Meaning that its hard to fill in gaps if you plan on doing a full set for SE-IV) but it can be done like you said with some creative license. The Earth forces have alot more ships to draw from. Still the work presented is awesome, well done, especially Coming from DOGA.
I am sure there are some Robotech fans who will admire these ships.

Atrocities, I have been unable to access ASTMod site or any of your links. I have no trouble with any other sites. Might there be some reason why I can't get your site?. I was actually thinking of making a Zentraedi shipset recently.

Whoa, that shipset looks amazing.
I've never heard of Robotech, but I love those ships. I'm definitively getting that one when its ready.
What about the infantry and troops. Those got to be brainkillers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif (Will they be legged or hovers?)

Count me in for being interested. Never really got the chance to watch the tv show when it first came out, but I got the first 2 volumes on dvd. Been able to watch the first volume, but haven't seen the second volume. And there are 5 or 7 volumes total? Like I've said before, too many dvd sets, not enough time or money.

That is great work AT. Once this is done would you mind if I included it in my ill fated Robot Mod. The one thing that I'm missing is some appropriate robot pics (and AI files, and playtesting by someone other than me...). If I could get you to do some extra battlepod pics when the shipset is done I would be eternally grateful.

In which case, yes the Battlepods would have hooves. Zentraedi infantry, troops and mecha, have legs. If you did have Zentraedi they would have to have massive physical strength since they are 50 feet tall. To be realistic you would have to reduce maintenance while removing repair ability.

Comments:
Of the ships you posted with variants, each time, I thought the variant looked cooler. As for the carriers, the top two are very difficult to distinguish for me... the differences are subtle. Perhaps the middle and bottom one could be made wider, or the top one could have some additional colored patterning on it (the blue markings, for example)?
Another possibility is the "thorns" on the sides, which could be varied in number for the different size classes. For the ships below the carriers, for example, you could give them 2, 3, and 4 side-thorns at the ship's tail - currently, the overhead outline of the bottom two is identical, as they are different only by a vertical fin and the grey tanks. Coloring the vertical fin so it is obvious on the overhead view might be nice, too, as would giving the bottom one wider wings. The red dots near the front might look better if you could move them out a bits, so they were visible in an overhead view...
Lastly... naming the ship sets (eg "Carriers") is very useful for giving specific feedback=)

The Varients are actual ships that I have seen that were slightly differant than the once I was modeling after. I may doll up the Varients a bit more to distingish them a bit more, but right now I want to concentrate on just getting the set roughed out.

The troops are pretty good but need a little tweaking. See if you can Bend the legs a little more and make the 'head' a little bigger. You also might want to use a scout battlepod as small, missile battlepod as medium and an officers battlepod as large.
Here are some links for pics...
Battlepods
http://www.chronocorp.com/covers/robotech02.jpg
http://www.lunamanar.com/starfire/pics/robotech.jpg
http://www.solarwinds.com/mac/images/robotech/rt-game1.gif
Officers Battlepod

Missile, Officers, and Scout Battlepods (hard to see though)
http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models/nichimo/hcug-zentradi.jpg
Also note that the battlepods were usually blue/white or blue/grey (with the officers pods being darker and havind some red), as opposed to the solid green of their ships. The battlepods were also used as fighters. The third battlepod pic is of them flying in space. I hope that this can help a bit.

I guess I need to be honest and let you all know that I no longer have any of my files. I don't know what happened but a few days ago the computer shut off without warning, no reason for it, just an HP thing. That shut off compermised my DOGA files, my STM files, and a hell of a lot more.
I am just now finding out that most of my important files are gone. I discovered the error in the STM by accident and thankfully it was an easy fix.
However the ships for this set are not. I still have the 3 pods, but that is ALL I have.
The rest are gone.

Also, keep in mind that as devices are designed to work harder, they often Last less time before breaking down. That 1 GB HD does comparably nothing while it is operating to a 100 GB HD. Spins slowly, hardly anything on the disks to read, etc. When you have to keep things the same size, but vastly increase how much they do at once, trouble ensues. Fyron I don't know. I have tinkered been tinkering with the idea of doing a dedicated B5 Alliance set.
Starting with the White Star and working from there. However I haven't been able to find any decent top down, side, front - rear, or profiles shots of a white star that look good enough to base a model on.
I also sincerely doubt that I could make a decent enough set even if I tried real hard. To many curves and such. Besides my Last attemp at a B5 ship, the Nimbari (sp) Cruiser was not widely appreciated. (Still have a price on my head for that one.)

It's really fun to make portraits for nice and interesting existing minis. <font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">I did make one SEIII set into an SEIV set for Fyron. It is really hard.

Fyron why are you waving your hand infront of my face, what do you think you are some jedi or something. I am an Atrocian, mind trick will not work on me. The only thing that does is credits, and not that funny money from Canada or Europe either, real money, American money. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Tss... good money...
Oh yeah, cool shipset. It's already populating my HD.
Hope you are willing to make more B5 shipsets. Would be very cool. But I hope I have the honour of making the Ancients. If I find the time for it. I have the perfect grafical templates for those. A rocky hull for the Kirishiac Lords.

I don't know if I am or not going to make a set for B5. Remember Last time I tried, I was beaten, tacked to a cross, and when I slipped off, beaten again and restuck to the cross with a sign around my neck that read, and I quote "I Defiled The Blessed B5."
I am fearful that if I attempt a second time they will gut me with a church key and leave me to rot in the mid day sun.
No sir, I would need much protection if I were to attempt a second B5 set. (And the death threats roll in.)

Fear not AT, I'll protect you agianst the foul creatures who hung you Last time!
If they want to get you, they will have to go through me. I'm armed with a timetraveling gearbox and a ferocious poodle. Hope that does the trick.

Thanks.
If you still want to download or view the set just click the NASY (New Age Ship Yards) link in my signature and at the top of the page look for the Zentraedi (RoboTech) link.
Enjoy.

Star Trek geek boy ( who would preferred to be called a Trekkie) or hard core B5 fan? Decisions, decisions.... I know more of Trek, having been growing up when the TOS first started going into syndication. But I do like B5, even though I haven't seen all of the episodes dozens of times. I can't seem to catch B5 on tv nowadays, so I'll have to put the dvd sets on lay-away one of these days so I can watch them. So I won't call myself hard core yet. But regardless of what I can call myself, I wouldn't ever diss any shipset that Atrocities may put out.

But I do support any sci-fi tv show that can Last more than a few weeks before getting canned. But if I have the chance to put one of the B5 dvd sets on layaway this year, and keep it on layaway, I'll do it.

Note the term "hyperactive" in front of fanboy. It makes all the difference. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif Regular fanboys- those that do not set out to ruin other people's lives just because some trivial detail that only they care about is not 100% their Version of canon- are just fine. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Heck, I don't even get irritated at all of the Star Trek stuff that's not canon. LIke Atroticites mod, as long as it's in the spirit of ST, then I don't care.

This is just a generalization and is not intended to offend or otherwise insult any member of this forum.
Hard Core Geek Boys of star trek are not Trekkies or trekkers. These guys eat, breath, live, and fantise about Star Trek as if it were real. They are the ones that show up at conventions and hiss at people who's costumes are not authentic enough. These are the guys who ask the stupid questions like "What was the combination to your safe on the Enterprise in Episode such and such?"
They are the cry babies who go and tattle on people at work and no not the meaning of clean hair and fixed glasses. (They prefer to where the broken ones held together with white or black tape.) They generally will accept some non cannon star trek things, but most often just launch a letter writing compaine to have your web site shut down. They are a source of many many many negative emails over the years. I have most of them on my block list now. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Now Babylon 5 fan boys are a much different breed. Mostly men who have no love of current reality and identify more often than not with characters from B5. These people are generally smarter than uber Trek fans and actaully have a life. However, they are adamant resivor dogs when it comes to cannon and anything that pokes up on their non cannon radar is instantly considered FUBAR.

As much as a sci-fi geek that I am, I can't call myself hardcore by your definition, AT. Sure, I eat, drink and breathe sci-fi, but I do know how to recognize reality. As much as I've read the novels, I still have trouble recognizing some races or remember every single detail from every single Star Wars or Star Trek book I've read. And I've probably read more SW books than I have ST books. The lack of continuity of the ST books just doesnt' do it for me. Heck, nowadays, it may take me a month to even read a book, unless I'm working on the weekends. And I don't get to watch sci-fi programming or movies as much as I'd like to. Part of it I can blame on letting my son watch whatever it is he wants to watch to keep him quiet, and part of it is my wife doesn't like to watch that stuff. Usually by the time I get the kid to bed, I start playing SEIVG and don't watch the tv, unless Jerry Springer is on. So, no, I'm not hardcore. And I would never condone the practice of blockading someone's website because it isn't 100% canon. I've met some of these types (usually playing D&D, and they're the ones who know all of the rules without cracking open a book), and I don't like them either.
