View Full Version : lack of resource storage

In trying to find good AI's I ran a game for 50
turns and then examined each of the races.
Most had done very well but one had not built any
storage facilities despite having a 68k surplus
every turn. I could increase the size of the
storage bunkers but is the starting 50k storage
adjustable or is it hard coded.
I also noticed that one race built one or two
facilities on planets that had a possible 8.
Any ideas why this particular race would not
build to the limit?

You can change the default storage amount in settings.txt, the other items I couldn't hazard to guess.
Generally, the AI only builds what it needs in terms of research/intel/resource needs unless it is in times of plenty, then it might be storage facilities if the conditions match those in its AI files.

I'm not sure if the post below was aimed at me
but I'd be happy to post any AI's preferences I
have.
I play using the Startrek races and have used
several different AI's, these have been written
by other people.

Would you be willing to post what AI's you like the best? This could help a lot of the newer players out. Thanks.

Downloaded the recent beta TDM mod pack:
The new Romulan and Klingon AI's
are very good. They spread across the
Galaxy like a disease.
So far both haven't built above Cruiser
Level which is a bit odd (high diff, high bonus)
but I'll continue the game and maybe they'll
catch up.
The one good thing about these AI's is that they
designers haven't changed any tech's, just tried
to write the best AI using the standard data files.
