View Full Version : Ground Invasion PBW

Anyone ever consider makes a PBW game where no weapons could be shot at planets but instead you were forced to use troops in order to invade each planet? Then defensive troops would be useful. And you could the weapon plats while you were at it so the planet couldn't fight back either. It would make for an interesting game.

Not really. He could make a Ground Invasion mod if he wants to.

That Planetary Assault mod seems about right. I just hate the idea of glassing planets. Maybe I'll get back into a PBW with that mod over the summer.

I agree. Why destroy perfectly good "Ambulatory labour". It just seems to be criminal to destroy a populated planet. Sure you remove their production from the enemy but it is so much better to give it some planning and actually grab the produce potential for yourself. Besides I invariably roleplay conquerers, The Negation, The 3rd Empire etc and it makes more sense to take slaves, although they have no morals against exterminating other races to make a point.

Well in one of those games you just have to read the introduction story to get the same message. I said usually I play conquerers, the Republic is a departure though. They aren't interested in conquest only defending their space from incursions.
